KEYNOTE SPEAKER

DR. GIUSEPPE AMMENDOLAFor over twenty-five years, Dr. Giuseppe Ammendola has been teaching courses in international political economy, international business, international management, international finance, international trade and investment, international marketing, international relations, American government, US foreign policy, and the European Union. In addition to teaching at NYU, he has taught at the City University of New York. He has also taught and lectured at various Italian graduate business schools and postdoctoral institutions.

He consults for mid- and small-sized companies on strategic management, marketing, and business plan evaluation and writing. His writings include the book From Creditor to Debtor: The U.S. Pursuit of Foreign Capital – The Case of the Repeal of the Withholding Tax, published in the “Foreign Economic Policy of the

United States – Outstanding Studies” Series as well as the internationally recognized country study “The Government of Italy” in Michael Curtis, ed., Western European Government and Politics. He is the editor and main author of the book The European Union: Multidisciplinary Views. As a guest commentator on Bloomberg TV, Dr. Ammendola’s analyses in several languages on the US economy and capital markets have reached millions worldwide. He has given hundreds of presentations (including many in Spanish, French, and Portuguese) to corporate, government, and nonprofit managers as well as general audiences on many aspects of the global economy.

Dr. Ammendola earned a Doctorate in Economics and Business, summa cum laude, from the University of Naples and a Ph.D. in Political Science with a specialization in International Political Economy from the Graduate School of the City University of New York, where he also worked at several research institutes. He came to the United States as a Fulbright scholar. Dr. Ammendola has received the New York University SCPS Excellence in Teaching Award. He currently holds the Joseph Schumpeter Visiting Professor Chair in International Economics at the Universidade Autonoma of Lisbon.

CASPER ULDRIKS, ESQ.Mr. Uldriks held a number of positions at FDA, such as an investigator in FDA’s New England office, in the Office of the Commissioner in Legislative Affairs and in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), where he served as CDRH’s Associate Director for Regulatory Guidance and Government Affairs. He helped to guide CDRH to develop and implement various medical device related amendments to the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, regulations and guidance documents. For years he has trained FDA staff on medical law and has been a featured speaker at many professional conferences involving FDA’s medical device program.

Mr. Uldriks is a specialist in FDA law. He has a BA cum laude in Philosophy from Albion College, a Master’s Degree in Theology from Boston University, and a JD from Suffolk University Law School in Boston.

Mr. Uldriks has worked with IAMERS since its inception in 1993.

STANLEY J. GOLDSMITH, M.D.Stanley J. Goldsmith, M.D. served from 1995-2013 as the Director of the Division of Nuclear Medicine, Department of Radiology at The New York Presbyterian Hospital and Professor of Radiology and Medicine at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. 1992-95, he was the Clinical Director of the Nuclear Medicine Service, Attending Radiologist and Member at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and Professor of Radiology at the Cornell University Medical College. 1973-92, he was the Director of the Department of Physics-Nuclear Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. From 1969-73, he was the Director of Nuclear Medicine at the Nassau County Medical Center.

Dr. Goldsmith served as President of the Society of Nuclear Medicine in 1985-86 and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine from 1994-1999. He served

on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine, and Cancer Biotherapy & Radiopharmaceuticals. He was a Director of the American Board of Nuclear Medicine from 1990-1996.

Dr. Goldsmith has received numerous awards, including the Distinguished Educator Award from the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Excellence as a Teacher in Radiology from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine. He has been named in the Best Doctors in New York and Best Doctors in America publications. Dr. Goldsmith is the author of approximately 150 scientific articles, 21 book chapters, 27 invited articles and reviews and over 250 scientific abstracts.

CHUCK GAUTHIERAn accomplished executive with twenty plus years in the medical imaging industry working for Philips Medical, Comdisco, Emageon (PACS), Technology Management Solutions (TSC) and Shared Imaging in technology management, investment thought-leadership and executive roles. Presently Mr. Gauthier is General Manager for Shared Imaging and holds a MBA degree from Keller Graduate School of Management – Chicago in finance and marketing, and a BS degree from DePaul University – Chicago in Medical Physics.
