The choir robes, hand bells, some cantata books and some music willbe moved to another area. However, much of the old musical material isoutdated and will be eliminated. There is,also, a piano we would be glad to give toanyone willing to move it. If you wouldlike any of the old sheet music or thepiano, contact Don Taylor, Dave Tingleror Brad Seevers. Allow me to say thanks for all the ladies who worked hard on the Mother/Daughterbanquet. It appeared all had a great time. A special thanks to all the men who eithercooked or helped with serving the food. You guys did a great job!

I am excited about this Sunday, May 15 th

, being Friends Day . You are being encourageto invite your co-workers, friends, relatives and your long lost p uppy dog named BogieWell maybe not Bogie, but I think you get the idea. We will have two special drawings forgiveaways, one during each service. The way they will be entered in the contest is bygetting them to our visitor booth before the service and having them fill out one of ouvisitor cards. The lucky guests will be awarded their prize at the conclusion of eachservice.

Anyone interested in going to the Reds vs. Cubs game on June 8 th needs to buy thei

ticket on May 22 nd in the main lobby . I will order tickets on the 23 rd. We are hoping tget tickets that will not exceed $24.00 per person. The game begins at 12:30 so we meetat the church by 9:00 A.M. All children will need to be accompanied by a parent oguardian.

I wanted to leave you today with this note. There is a movement right now stating that theLord is going to return on May 21st . At this point, those who are believers are going to beRaptured. As you can see, I have activities planned for May 22 nd at FACC. I am ntrying to poke fun at those who make these types of claims. I do however want to remind

you that the scriptures teach that No man knows the day or the hour, not even the Son(Jesus) himself. (Mark 13:32) If Scripture is true, and it is, then I am going to stick withit. I choose to live each day as if it could be my last. I hope you will do the same. Seek tolive right with your God and look forward to the day He returns.

Children of God... "Train a child in the way he should go,and when he is old he will not turn from it." -- Proverbs 22:6

A Lesson To ChildrenThis past Sunday the lesson that I taught to the children duringour Hosanna Worship second service was on honoring their

parents. This seemed a suitable lesson for mothers day and weall had a great time learning about this together. As to whether ornot the lesson stuckwell, youll have to talk to the parents nextSunday.

I did have a few lingering thoughts about the points that I madeto the children and about how they should be made to my life.Three of the points that I taught the kids were as follows:

    1. Your parents care about you and your needs. This is whythey sometimes say yes and why they sometimes say no.

    2. Your parents sacrifice a lot for you so it is really rudewhen you disobey them or whine to them about the littlethings they ask you to do.

    3. Even when your parents are not with you, you alwayshave a chance to honor them. You can do this byrespecting teachers at school or church or babysitters.

Such an easy, obvious lesson to teach to children, but one I needto learn as well. I have a Heavenly Father who loves me andcares for me, and yet I sometimes want my own answers toprayer instead of his. He sacrificed everything for me with HisSon on the cross, and yet I sometimes tire or maybe even whine

with the little chores in life that he expects from me. Finally, even though I know that I am to honor him at all times, I onlyremember to do it sometimes when I know he is around (andsometimes not even then.)

This is where the miracle of parenting comes in. Even though Ido all this to him, he still only loves me back. Does hesometimes punish me? Sure, and I am thankful for the discipline, but his greatest attributes are grace and forgiveness. I amthankful to be his child, because He is such an awesome God.
