False AlarmIf you heard the fire alarm followed by the sound of fire sirens last night shortly after 9:00, it was a false alarm (thank goodness) from the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital. It didn’t take long for a strong crew of firefighters to respond, and fortunately they had no work to do.

VOTE KULCZYK for JUSTICE of the PEACE My name is Ronald W. Kulczyk and I am running for Justice of the Peace. I strongly believe there is a loop in the justice system and I plan to fix it. I may not have the experience with the law, or background in the court systems like some of my fellow candidates, but I strongly believe I am the right fit for the job. Sometimes it isn’t always best to have a background and experience; we need new blood in that position with a clear outlook to change things. My main goal is to be fair, I want to make sure that everyone is treated the same. I have heard many times that someone was treated unjustly by the judge because they weren’t liked or because of whom their family was. I myself know how it feels to be judged by someone without them even knowing who I am or what I believe. I have lived in this community my whole life and love being a part of it. I want to protect the citizens of this community and make it a safe place for children to grow up in and become our future leaders. I have two children of my own; they need a good example of how the justice system should work. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, feel free to contact me by phone, email or my Facebook page. My phone number is 263-2377 and my email is [email protected]. My Facebook page is Ronald W Kulcxyk for Justice of Peace.

Monday’s teaser: I stare at you, you stare at me.I have three eyes, yet cannot see.Every time I blink, I give you commands. You do as you are told, with your feet and hands. What am I?Answer: A traffic light. And if it’s that one where you take a left turn at Albertson’s, you’d better be an extremely patient driver if hitting that one on a red. Borderline ridiculous. Today’s teaser: I run over fields and woods all day. Under the bed at night I sit not alone. My tongue hangs out, up and to the rear, awaiting to be filled in the morning. What am I?

~ The Class of 2014 ~The Class of 2014 would like to take this opportunity to thank the area businesses for their support from preschool to the present. Because of your long time support, we as a class voted to not solicit items from businesses for our post-graduation party. However, it has come to our attention that some businesses have expressed an interest in donating items to be raffled. If you are interested in donating items, please contact Abbi Helland (263-2010) or Rachael Zeiger (263-0125) by May 21, 2014. Once again, thank you for all your support!

So, what’s the difference between “finished” and “complete”? No English dictionary has been able to adequately explain the difference between these two words. But in a recently held linguistic competition held in London, England attended by the best in the world, Samsundar Balgobin, a Guyanese man from Bachelors Adventure, was the clear winner with a standing ovation lasting over 5 minutes. Here is his answer which earned him an invitation to dine with the Queen after-wards who decided to call him after the contest. He won a trip to travel the world in style and a case of 25 year old Eldorado rum for his answer. The final question was this: How to explain the difference between COMPLETE and FINISHED in a way that is easy to understand. Some people say there is no difference between COMPLETE and FINISHED. His astute answer: “When you marry the right woman, you are COMPLETE. When you marry the wrong woman, you are FINISHED. And when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are COMPLETELY FINISHED.”

Complete? Or finished?

She should be smilingTamrah Pewett was one of just three golfers advancing to the State B Golf Tournament in Fairmont Hot Springs as her 14th place finish on a score card of 120 strokes made the cut of 15. Makkell Baillargeon placed 8th with a 111. And Luke Gunderson fired an 89 to sneak in at 14th. Talk about tight, just 10 strokes decided the top 15 in the boys’ individual scores. So congratulations to the trio of Scotties mentioned above. They’ll be on the Marias Valley Golf Course May 20-21.
