    Congratulations to all Pioneer School badminton team members who participated in the schooldivision's tournament. Special recognition going out to the following students who placed inthe finals:

    Grade 7 tournament:

    Connor S. - gold in boys singles

    Sean K. and Ryan W. - silver in boys doubles

    Grade 8 tournament:

    Christopher A. and Sean W. - bronze in boys doubles

    Brianna S. and Alaina S. - bronze in girls doubles

    Pioneer School Final Band Concert

    Wednesday, June 4th

    7:00pm

    Pioneer Gym

    All Grade 6 Honour Band and Grade 7 and 8 Concert Band members need to be at the school by6:40 to warm up. All Grade 7 and 8s need to be seated with instruments before the concertstarts.

    Regular uniform is required. Grade 6 Honour Band is to be dressed in black and white withblack socks. The students all have vests. Grade 7 and 8 band members are to be dressed inblack dress pants with a white crew neck shirt for the uniform vest.

    All band awards will be presented at the concert. We are looking forward to a full house. Seeyou there!!

    2014 FESTIVAL RESULTS

    Almost 200 students from Pioneer Schoolparticipated in the Red Deer Festival ofBands during the week of April 22nd. TheGrade 6 Honour Band and the Grade 7 and8 Concert Bands all received Superiorrating from the adjudicator!

    INSTRUMENTSGrade 6 students must hand in allschool owned instruments by June5th. This includes all TUBAS,BARITONES, HORNS, BASSCLARINETS, BARI SAXES, and BELLKITS. The large school ownedinstruments will be cleaned andreturned before the end of June soGrade 6 and 7 students can sign themout for the summer. Grade 8 studentswill need to see Mr. Friesen at WestCentral near the end of June in orderto get an instrument for summer use.

    UNIFORM VESTS

    All vests will be collected the

    night of the band concert. Students need

    to hand in their vests at the conclusion of

    their performance.

    Gr. 6 Band Info Night

    For the parents of Grade 6 studentscontinuing with the band program, there

    will be an information session on June 17that 6pm. The Windshoppe will be in

    attendance and other options for obtaining

    an instrument will be discussed. Hope tosee you in the band room at 6pm on June17th!

    GRADE SIX PROVINCIAL ACHIEVEMENT TEST SCHEDULE

    Note: Gr. 6s will write exams in a.m with regular classes to follow.

    Attention: Gr 6 P A T exams infoGrade 6 students are allowed, even encouraged to use calculators on the Math

    Provincial Achievement Test to be written in June. At the school we do not have nearlyenough extra calculators for all the students who will need one for the test. Please

    ensure that your gr. 6 student has his/her own inexpensive four-function calculator

    (available at the dollar stores, etc.) as soon as possible.

    Now that our weather has finally turned nice, Please remind students to dress appropriately.

    School dress code:

    If deemed unacceptable, the student will be asked to change or cover up. No breasts, bellies orbuttocks showing. No underpants showing. T-shirt sayings need to be school appropriate.
