The 16th Annual Teen Conference provides a dynamic and engaging day for high school students through the promotion of TEEN HEALTH , LEADERSHIP , EMPOWERMENT , and ACCESS TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES . During informative and interactive workshop sessions, students from across New Jersey engage in discussion around a variety of topics, including health, gender identity, healthy relationships, substance abuse prevention, healthy choices, bullying, communication, and financial management . Students can also participate in the Youth Engagement Project , a competitive program that integrates students into conference planning and implementation by: Presenting a workshop: Students or student groups can share their work with their fellow conference participants during peer-led workshops. Participating in a Student Leadership Panel: Teen leaders can talk about what they have done to make their community a healthier place. Receiving an award: We will honor a student whose leadership has had a beneficial impact on healthy living and community service. Developing a PSA: Teens can create videos about a health topic (such as distracted driving, healthy relationships, pregnancy prevention, etc.) which will be reviewed for appropriateness, shown during the conference, and attendees will vote on their favorite! Acting as a Teen Conference Ambassador: Students who have previously attended the Teen Conference can be conference leaders, workshop moderators, greeters, or provide feedback to conference planners.
