Each semester of Marching Band 8080 or Color Guard 8085 provides the opportunity to earn 5 credits of PE

4 Years of Marching Band 8080 satisfies PE requirements and opens up summer school for additional honors or make up classes.

CORPS. VS. SHOW BAND (TRADITIONAL) STYLE

Corps Style Models after Drum Corps International (DCI) Typically use a Front Ensemble or Pit Visually more figurative or abstract and complex Phantom Regiment, SMCHS, MVHS, ASU Marching Band

Show Band (Traditional) Style Geared towards crowd entertainment for

halftime/pregame Typically do not use a front ensemble or pit Visually more literal and often more simplified Ohio State Marching Band and most college bands

FOOD/NUTRITION

Students are dismissed for lunch from approx 12pm-1pm

Sack lunch recommended Students may go off campus California Vehicle Code V C Section 12814.6: Students

within 12 months of earning their provisional license may not transport passengers under 20 years of age unless they are accompanied and supervised by their parent/guardian or a licensed driver 25 years of age or older.

Water breaks will be regularly given throughout the day

FEES CONTINUED

Payment for fees will be available online through the online payment portal beginning in June.

We encourage that fees be paid by band camp given that many expenses fall prior to the start of the season.

Eagle Regiment will match the financial aid granted by SMCHS

Financial Aid status is verified by the Director and Financial Aid recipients will be anonymous to all families including Booster Council

REHEARSAL POLICIES

All rehearsals are mandatory Students should arrive to rehearsal 15 minutes

prior to prepare equipment and ensure proper starting time

Rehearsals are closed to the public unless permission is granted by the Director

Rehearsals conclude at the Director’s or Coach’s Discretion

Students must properly put away their equipment before leaving

Rehearsal prior to a performance is the Dress Rehearsal. Attendance to this rehearsal is mandatory in order to perform.

PERFORMANCE POLICIES

All performances are mandatory! Parents should not engage students

prior to performances or unless otherwise directed.

Detailed itinerary will be provided 1-2 weeks prior to each performance

ABSENCE POLICY

Excused absences are limited to illness, medical/dental/optometric appointment, legal appearance, attendance at a funeral, illness/death in the immediate family, or participation in another approved school-related activity.

With exception of an emergency, all conflicts must be communicated to the director, coach (if applicable), and section captain in writing at the beginning of the season via Conflict Sheet. All other absences are considered unexcused thus ineligible to make-up.

In the event of an emergency, an email notification should be sent to the director, coach, and section captain ASAP.

VOLUNTEER WORK

TRUCK AND TRAILER DRIVER Drive the ER Truck or tow the ER Trailer to Eagle Regiment and other

program related events. This can include other concerts, spring competitions and community events.

BUS CHAPERONES Supervise and monitor student behavior on the bus. Report any

students who do not meet the behavior standards of the program and coordinate with student leadership in making sure all students are in account.

FOOD/MEALS/NUTRITION Arrange the food, water, and nutrition for any specified events such

as football games, competitions and/or SMCHS Open House.

VOLUNTEER WORK (CONT.)

UNIFORM FITTINGS AND MANAGEMENT Organize and conduct uniform fittings and minor uniform

alterations/cleaning

HISTORIAN/VIDEO/PHOTOGRAPHY Make sure that all performances have a video and photo record

SPIRIT WEAR/SPIRIT COMMITTEE Organize orders for spirit wear and design locker tags

FUNDRAISING/POINSETTIAS Organize, promote and process orders for all fundraising

activities

VOLUNTEER WORK (CONT.)

SENIOR NIGHT

PROPS AND EQUIPMENT Transport equipment/props to performance venues and

checkpoint sites. Help unload and load props and equipment at performances.

HEALTH/FIRST AID Administer first aid or any health related issues to

students. Must complete CPR/First Aid training.

WEBSITE Manage website and update information when needed
