CAN YOU TRUST THE BIBLE? Why is it different than any other book? Why should I do what the Bible says? Today’s culture bombards Christians with these and many more questions about the Good Book. This month’s theme for Collide is Law and Order: Biblical Defense Unit. While still having all the fun of a typical Collide, we are going to track down the answers to questions so that students can leave knowing the truth about why Christians believe the Bible. “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.” Isaiah 41:10

We live a world in which most do not obey God, or may not even believe in the one, true and living God! Life, in this uncertain world, changes…constantly. As believers in the one, true and living God, we know that He is always with us, just as the verse in Isaiah states. Come and join us June 18–21 as we teach our children that in this changing world, we do not have to fear. We can have great courage, just as Daniel did during his captivity in Babylon. After all, God proved to Daniel over and over that He is with us!

We need your help in making this exciting week a valuable time for our children in directing them and leading them to the Lord. The Bible teaches us that we are to instruct our children in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it. Our children are bombarded by a world and media that teaches them the opposite of what the Bible teaches. More than ever, we need to saturate our children with the truth of God’s word. women’s ministryDRESS MAKING EVENT: 60 beautiful, handmade dresses will make their way to those in need via our summer missions trips and Operation Christmas Child. Thanks to those who assisted with our March Dress Making Event. Our middle schoolers also stepped up to help make more than 20 yarn dolls! Great job everyone!

SECRET SISTER ACTIVITIES: We will hold our Secret Sister reveal on June 3 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. If you have a Secret Sister you’ve been praying for since January, please come celebrate and let her know who you are! If you don’t have a Secret Sister and would like to join in and have someone pray for you, we’d love to talk to you about it before our next match-up in July. Contact: Vicki Allen at [email protected] or 864-982-4184.

single mom’s eventEveryone falls into one of two categories: either you are a single mom or you know a single mom. Which one are you? If you are a single mom go to BrushyCreek.org to register today and if you are not a single mom, then invite one who you know to register asap! This event is FREE! The single moms will be blessed with a wonderful dinner followed by powerful testimonies, fantastic door prizes and a Word from the Lord given by a single mom herself, guest speaker Dana Russell. The event will be held on Friday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. and there will be free child care. Pre-registration is required. For more information contact Sarah Uber at [email protected] or 772-285-4040.

Each year we provide opportunity for your child to grow in Christ. These opportunities come through many venues such as Sunday school, Greenhouse, worship services, service projects, and camps and retreats. I believe each of these opportunities provide good Christian fellowship and potential spiritual growth, all based on God’s living Word! DO NOT LET YOUR STUDENT MISS OUT! Time is running out, so 8th graders, sign up for leadership retreat today, and all middle schoolers sign up for another opportunity to serve in Myrtle Beach at Seesalt and Missions. Don’t miss this incredible chance to grow in faith with other BCBC youth. All details are at BrushyCreek.org. If you have any questions, please don’t hesi-tate to contact me. God bless and get ready for another God-filled summer!

Attention: Middle School ParentsJeremiah Oliver // Middle School Minister

Graduates, the staff of Brushy Creek would like to say CONGRATULATIONS! We are so proud of each and every one of you! Graduation is not only a time to celebrate the successful completion of your school work, but also a time to mark the beginning of all that is ahead for you. No matter what has happened up to this point, the future stretches out before you as a long journey of adventure and possibilities. Use this time to renew your commitment to Christ and seek Him for all your future plans. The writer of Proverbs says that if you trust in Him and not our own understanding, he will make your future paths straight.

Graduation Sunday is May 27. All graduates who are planning to walk need to meet in the front room of the ARC at 8:45 a.m. with their cap and gown.

congratulations graduates!

As I write this I am still living in the afterglow of Saturday’s Hispanic Family Festival at Brushy Creek. Close to 600 people from the Hispanic community came to our campus. I’m told that over 20 prayed to receive Christ! I’m so proud of our church for having the heart to reach out to folks in our community. We had a very good number of volunteers from our church, Spanish speaking and non-Spanish speaking alike. Simply put, we did a missions project without leaving our campus.

We are currently planning the following mission projects for this year: Brazil (June 4-12): Closed Peru (June 15-23): Closed Japan (July 6-16): Closed New York City (July 15-21): Contact Gary Wheeler London Olympics (August 3-13): Contact Lee Daniels Joanna, SC VBS (July 26-29): Contact Benji Ladd

We’re excited to be putting together a new directory, and we need you! Do you struggle to remember names of people you pass in the hallways at church? Do you have trouble thinking of the names of the parents of your kids’ friends? The directory is helpful in so many ways. Please help us to get the most complete resource we can by coming in to have your portrait made. We promise it will be quick and painless (and you’ll get a free picture, too, with no obligation to buy anything)! So jump on BrushyCreek.org today and schedule an appointment. You’ll be glad you did – and we will be, too!

We promise to do better than this!
