The 2015 NASCAR season is settling in and there has been a lot of excitement both on and off the track. The reigning Sprint Cup Series champion, Kevin Harvick picked up where he left off last year winning back-to-back races in Las Vegas and Phoenix - securing his seat in the Chase for the Championship. Other Lincoln sponsored drivers also found their way to victory lane including Joey Logano’s Daytona 500 victory. His teammate at Penkse Racing, Brad Keselowski, won in Fontana. Also winning was Denny Hamlin at Martinsville, Matt Kenseth at Bristol Motor Speedway, and Kurt Busch taking the checkered flag in a postponed showdown in Richmond. Whether inviting a loyal distributor, a top 10 end-user account, or putting on a type of sales contest, Lincoln has the ability to take customers behind the scenes and entertain in ways that simply aren’t available to the general public. The Lincoln Electric sales team has done a great job entertaining it’s guests at the track in a number of ways. Customers have been able to meet many of the NASCAR drivers, attend the drivers meetings, partake in pace car rides, receive personalized hauler tours, be a part of NASCAR’s hospitality, sit up in the teams pit box during the race and have their photo taken in victory lane with the race winner.

Paul Hewitt and the entire Houston sales office set the bar higher this year where they had 140 invited guests at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Spring Nationals. Representing significant large end users included company owners, plant managers, and even the Mitsubishi CAT engineering team in town from Japan. Customers received the royal treatment with hot meals and beverages at Lincoln’s display, meet and greets with the NHRA’s most popular drivers, tours of the team haulers and the opportunity to stand at the starting line to feel the rush of a combined 20,000 HP. At the event, Doug Kalitta took down Tony Schumacher in the final round to score the win in Top Fuel. With the win in Houston, Ron Capps moved to driver number two on the all-time NHRA Funny Car victory. Erica Enders won her second straight victory in the Pro Stock division.
There have been four completed races thus far in the young 2015 Verizon IndyCar season with four different race winners: The Firestone Grand Prix of Indy – Juan Pablo Montoya, The Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana – James Hinchcliffe, The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach – Scott Dixon and The Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama – Josef Newgarden. The season has been dominated by IndyCar veteran presence with 42 wins combined among the first three race winners until Josef Newgarden broke thru with his very first event win. Newgarden had made 51 IndyCar starts having come close on multiple occasions but could never quite get to the top. Certainly a day he will remember forever. Anticipation builds as we enter the month of May and near the 99th running of the Indy 500 “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing”. As in year’s past, Lincoln Electric will play host to large end-user accounts from all over the United States and Canada at our Gasoline Alley Suite off the front straight away of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
