Council Committee Members Needed!

Crook County 4-H is structured differently than

most other counties in Wyoming. Instead of a

traditional 4-H Council, we have Council Com-

mittees. The committees are as follows: Small

Animal, Large Animal, Static Projects, Achieve-

ment and Recognition, Fair, and Shooting

Sports. Please volunteer for a committee by

calling the Extension Office now!

Horse Camp

Never hunted for deer before but want to? 4-H has an opportunity for six youth ages 14-18 to go hunting for whitetail does in Northeast Wyoming this fall. You can check out details online at http://www.uwyo.edu/4-h/youth/travel/deer-hunt/deer-hunt.html and get the application. This is a nearly free hunting ex-perience guided by 4-H volunteers and expe-rienced hunting experts. Talk to your 4-H shooting sports volunteers about making this happen for you!

We are extremely excited to introduce the Schwan's Cares program to your group as a supplemental fundraising pro-gram. This program is not meant to replace your traditional fundraiser, but to provide income for your group all year. This program will allow your group to earn money from people you know who already purchase Schwan's products.

Here are additional reasons why you will want to consider Schwan's new virtual fundraising program:

1. Selling product at everyday prices

2. High yield period – 45 day period where you earn between 20-40% of purchases 3. Ongoing 5% return throughout the remainder of the year - perpetual fundraiser

4. NO DELIVERY - Schwan's will deliver directly to the your supporters, anywhere in the lower 48 states

5. NO COLLECTION OF MONEY. All orders processed through the website. 6. Tap into the large number of current customers who already order Schwan's products 7. Live Smart program - Healthy living products

8. Market to existing databases

9. Use social media to expand your marketing area

10. Selling a known brand

11. Profits to group are the same when working with a Rep, Plus personal service & sales strategies for your cam-paign.

Motor Vehicle Records Check

The UW Official Vehicle Use Policy took effect on July 1, 2011. Anyone who wishes to drive. Any vehicle on UW busi-

ness must complete the “Form to Request Driving Privileges” in order to be granted driving privileges.

There are two forms: one for UW Employees and another for individuals who are not UW Employees. 4-H Volunteer

Leaders would complete the second form (not UW Employees). The regulation, policy and related documents can be

found at http://www.uwyo.edu/AUXSERV/FLEET/OFFICIAL

VEHICLE POLICY/Adults who wish to be approved as a 4-H Volunteer Leader must complete two background checks.

The criminal background check is conducted through UW Human Resources. Every 5 years, the volunteer leader will

be rescreened for the criminal background check. The Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check is conducted through UW

Risk Management. The MVR check is required each year

It is our responsibility to inform 4-H volunteer leaders about the policy and provide them with the necessary infor-

mation and links to complete the motor vehicle records input form.

This reminder is included in the annual renewal letter from the County 4 H Educator to each county 4 H volunteer

leader (Letter C Volunteer Renewal template annual). http://www.uwyo.edu/4-h/volunteers/mvr-link-

What Do YOU See? A national interpretive exhibit for 4-H members

We each have our own thoughts, feelings and ideas that allow us to see things in a different

way. This exhibition challenges 4-H members to express themselves creatively by answering

the question: “What Do YOU See?”

This challenge can be interpreted in a variety of mediums such as jewelry design, art, wood

working, pottery, gardening, photography, dance, music and other forms selected by

members. Exhibits should compel the observer to feel, think or be inspired by the 4-H

members’ interpretation and expression in their chosen medium.

For more information or to submit your exhibit, contact:

Megan Brittingham, Goshen County 4-H: [email protected]

Brittany Johnson, Laramie County 4-H: [email protected]

Entries due July 12 via email.
