Dear Valued Residents of The Village at Rosy Mound,
As the saying goes April showers bring May flowers and I have
enjoyed watching spring bloom all around our community. It’s also
nice to see our snowbird residents return to our community. Even
the birds in our aviary are singing their songs a little louder.
Spring is here at Rosy Mound! We have added a couple of new
activities to our calendar. With the warmer weather it’s a great
opportunity to join us for lawn games outside. Take a trip down
memory lane and join us for a game of “Name That Tune.” We
celebrate Mother’s Day and Memorial Day this month. I want to
thank and acknowledge those individuals who resonate with those
days. I want to thank everyone for working with us during April’s
quarantine period and fully understand what frustrations came
with those requests.
Thank you,
Heather Ellis

Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of
events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed
store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her
plainspoken single neighbor Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie begins to let
down her guard. Written by Nicholas Sparks.
A true story of survival, as a young couple's chance encounter leads them
first to love, and then on the adventure of a lifetime as they face one of
the most catastrophic hurricanes in recorded history. With no hope for
rescue, Tami must find the strength and determination to save herself
and the only man she has ever loved.
Travelling with a wagon train from Missouri to Oregon, things are going
well for them, until an Indian attack, and a family member dies soon after.
The leaders of the wagon train decide to send the children back to Mis-
souri, but the oldest, John (who had been described by all the adults as
lazy and worthless), decides to lead his siblings through the wilderness to
complete the journey their parents started.
After her husband ends their marriage, Kate embarks on a solo second
honeymoon in Africa. There, she and Derek, a pilot, rescue a baby
elephant. While nursing the elephant back to health, Kate discovers how
much she loves her new surroundings.

To ensure the sacrifices of America ’s fallen heroes are never forgotten, in December 2000, the U.S. Congress passed and the
president signed into law “The National Moment of Remembrance Act,” P.L. 106-579, creating the White House Commission on the
National Moment of Remembrance. The commission’s charter is to “encourage the people of the United States to give something
back to their country, which provides them so much freedom and opportunity” by encouraging and coordinating commemorations in the United States of Memorial Day and the National Moment of
Remembrance.
The National Moment of Remembrance encourages all Americans to pause wherever they are at 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day for a minute of silence to remember and honor those who have
died in service to the nation. As Moment of Remembrance founder Carmella LaSpada states: “It’s a way we can all help put the
memorial back in Memorial Day.”
Thank you, to all the men & women who served our country!
