EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

We will have Exposition of the Blessed Sac-rament on First Friday, June 4, from 9:00 am to 2:45 pm. If you would like to sign up for 1 hour time slots, please contact Elizabeth: 608-769-4014, so that we know there will be people praying before the Blessed Sacrament through-out this time.

THE KNIGHTS OF SAINT JOSEPH Men and their sons of all parishes are welcome to come Friday the 4th of June, from 7-8 pm at St James the Less Church. Please come to the side door on the south side of the church.

We are a fraternal gathering that meets on the first Fridays of the month for a Holy Hour of Adoration.

FROM YOUR PASTOR: WE NEED YOU - men, women and children -

I’m not joking. This is a very serious request. St. James the Less needs occasional help with different pro-jects throughout the Liturgical year. This is not in refer-ence to any long-term or onerous time commitment. Ra-ther, during the year there are a number of different jobs/activities that require assistance, such as Christmas and Easter set up. We have a few very dedicated, responsible parishioners who are very generous with their time, but they cannot do it all, nor should they have to do it all. Please volunteer. For info, please call Mary Lehn @ 507-894-3825

PRIESTLY ORDINATION

Priestly Ordination of Deacons Eric Mashak, Timothy Reither and Arturo Vigueras will be June 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman, La Crosse. Due to COVID19 restrictions there will be no reception after the Mass.

If you are unable to attend the ordination in per-son, the Mass will be livestreamed at diolc.org/live

THEOLOGY OF THE BODY: ST. JOHN PAUL II’S ROADMAP TO HAPPINESS

We live and move and express ourselves through our bodies. This is what Pope St. John Paul II under-stood so keenly and wanted us to take seriously, in our age that fails to respect the body and thus also fails to respect the person that the body represents.

On June 5th, Brian Butler will share vital insights into the treasure of Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body and its personal application in daily life. Brian is a national speaker and author of TOB Re-sources . To register, visit diolc.org/tob.

50TH JUBILEE ANNIVERSARY

Please submit your names for the Virtual 50th Ju-bilee Anniversary Celebration.

There will be a special Mass with Bishop Callahan held via livestream at 1:00 pm on Sunday, July 11 from the Cathedral. You will be able to view the livestream or recording by visiting diolc.org/marriage on and after July 11.

U.S. BISHOP’S ACTION ALERTS OPPOSING ERA AND “EQUALITY ACT”

“Wisconsin’s Catholic bishops join with the Unit-ed States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) in opposing the Equality Act of 2021 (H.R. 5). While all people must be treated with dignity and respect, efforts to prevent discrimination cannot foster ine-quality and intolerance of religion and people of faith. The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution specif-ically protects free speech and the free exercise of faith, as both are essential for a free and open socie-ty….” Read more and make your voice heard – Visit diolc.org/social-concerns.

DO NOT BE ANYONE’S SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

DO NOT BE ANYONE’S GUINEA PIG

Jesus said, “… do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul;

rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.” Mt 10:28

LET YOUR FAITH BE GREATER THAN YOUR FEAR

"God, grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right even though I think it is hopeless."

- Admiral Chester Nimitz

"Let nothing frighten you. Who has God, lacks nothing.

God alone is enough."

- St. Teresa of Avila

Catholic Traditions

Our Baptized Bodies are Temples of the Holy Spirit. It is a sin to experiment on them, absent genuine necessity,

like “I’m dying and there is no other alternative.”

Jesus said: “Be not afraid.”
