Our annual yard sale raised a little over $2500 for St. Leo!

Thank you to everyone who donated items and came out and

shopped! None of this would be possible without the tireless

efforts of Carla Hopkins and her team of volunteers. We’ll do it

again next year-hopefully with a lot more sunshine!

The last day to submit a Memorial Brick form is May 31st. After this last batch is received and installed, the

area near the statue will be sealed. Memorial brick forms are located in the Narthex on the gift card table.

Each brick is $75. You may inscribe up to 3 lines on each brick; each line must be 20 characters, which

includes spaces.

If you have any questions, please contact the office at 304-229-8945 or [email protected].

VBS is scheduled for the week of July 16-20. We need

volunteers- We need you! There are many areas during the

week in which you can help. Please come join in for all the fun!

For more information, contact Monica Mangino at

[email protected] or contact the office at

304-229-8945 or [email protected].

As spring turns to summer we just want to remind you there are some wonderful walks and trails to be enjoyed on St. Leo’s grounds. There is also a place for a game of horseshoes or a volleyball match. There is a picnic area to have a picnic. It makes us happy to see folks enjoying the gift of land that God has graced us with. We would just ask one small favor: if you plan on coming out to use the facilities (walking not included), drop Fr. Alfred an email at [email protected] or contact the office-304-229-8945 or [email protected] just to let us know that you are there. Doing that will allow us to let you know if something else is going on in advance. Be blessed and enjoy summer and activities here at St. Leo!

Please note: On Monday, May 28th, the

parish office will be closed in observance

of Memorial Day. Mass will be celebrated

that day at 10:00am. We pray that

everyone enjoys a safe weekend as we

remember all the brave men and women

who gave their lives for the freedoms we

are blessed to have in this country.

St. Leo’s Homeless Ministry will be making mats for the homeless to put under their sleeping bags.

These mats will be made out of plastic grocery bags, which are cut into strips and crocheted together.

If you would like to help out by making these mats, please join the Homeless Ministry on Sunday, June

3rd at 1:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. You will need a #15 crochet needle, scissors, and plastic bags. You

may also donate bags for the cause. Any questions, please contact Monica Cressin at 443-622-6887 or

[email protected].

This ministry is also helping the homeless and less fortunate create resumes. If you know how to do a

resume or are interested in learning how to help, please contact Norman Black at 304-885-0314 or

[email protected].

Liturgical Ministers for June 2-3, 2018

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Our parish family will be holding a 24-hour Eucharistic

Adoration for the special intention of the renewal and

rejuvenation of our parish beginning with noon Mass on

Friday, June 1st and ending with Benediction followed by

Mass at noon on Saturday June 2nd. We are asking each

family to consider spending one hour before the Blessed

Sacrament in prayer for our parish family.

If you are slated for a particular hour and cannot make it,

please try to get a substitute from your substitute list; if you

cannot get a substitute then contact Michele Bui at 304-229-

8945 or [email protected] to let her know so that a

substitute for that hour can be found.

You do not have to be scheduled to come and spend an hour

in quiet contemplation in the presence of the body of Christ!

We ask everyone to consider this powerful demonstration of

prayer.

serving? Please let us know. Call the office at

We are more than halfway there! St. Leo has

collected at 63% of our Catholic Sharing Appeal

goal of $32,580! We have received $20,578 in

donations and pledges. Since we have gone over

the 50% mark, from this point forward all funds

collected, every penny, comes back to St. Leo to be

used for projects and ministries here in our parish.

Thank you to everyone that has donated so far!

The Hail Mary is a powerful prayer. It

pleases Our Blessed Mother when fervently

prayed because, like the Angel Gabriel, it

offers Mary the same joys she received when

she became the Mother of God. So often the

Hail Mary is recited without consideration

for what is being said. Many graces can be

received NOW and at the HOUR OF

DEATH. If every Hail Mary is fervently

contemplated we not only please the Blessed

Mother but we also receive many graces. She

is the privileged channel through which the grace of

Christ is instilled in us. Try to remove all distractions. It

will not only benefit you but also many individuals

needing prayer.

For information on the Legion of Mary, please contact

Khoat Bui @ (304) 596-3420.
