Principal’s Message Dear Parents and Families,
What a great sight it was to see our carpark full and overflowing with cars last Wednesday for our parent/grandparent day. I know many students were excited at the prospect of having the parents/grandparents visit them in their classrooms.
There was a range of activities from craft, experiments to PE. It was really good to see parents/grandparents being active in their child’s classroom and also being active in their child life.
On Thursday this week we were privileged to hold a Digital Technology Professional Development day for other school around the area. We had 19 teachers and administration attended on the day and were im-pressed by our little school. One gentleman was very impressed with the displays inside the classroom and mentioned how he liked how we placed importance on spe-cial character (Christian focused). It helped to put us on the map within our local Cairns sector.
God Bless
Adam Coe

Staff changes for 2020.
It is always hard to say farewell to a valued staff members…BUT...We say a sad farewell to Mr and Mrs Hunter. Mr Hunter has accepted a job at Brisbane Adventist College in SQLD and Mrs Hunter will be going on ma-ternity leave. We wish them both the very best and they will be greatly missed.
We are going through a process to find a replacement and will notify our school community once we have appointed one.
I can also announce that Mr Dye has accepted the offer to stay on as a regular teacher in our school. Mr Dye has been a big asset to our school and we are blessed to have him here on a permanent basis.

This term our class has been designing prototypes for our egg drop unit. The students were divided up in to groups and set the task of designing contraptions to protect their egg on impact when dropped off the roof. Students have had the opportunity to create a hypothesis and the completed the experiment to test it.
So far we have had a few groups contraptions that have prevented the egg from cracking on impact.

It Takes Time
Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
Proverbs 22:6
Dr. Tony Evans, Pastor and Family Life speaker shared this little fact:
“It takes fifteen years for an olive plant to become an olive tree. In the garden of Gethsemane over in Israel, there are two-thousand-year-old olive trees that still produce olives. Their roots run deep. The Mount of Olives is a mountain covered with olive trees that have lived for centuries. When those trees were saplings, they were nurtured so that they have remained productive.
Likewise the care and nurture of a child will yield the returns of a fruit-ful life.”
Don’t give up! Keep loving and leading your kids. It takes time, but the results will be more than worth it!
God bless,
Chaplains Team
