Was declared a federal disaster area and recovery efforts continue even today.

Amateur Radio Operators played a significant role using Amateur Radio, Web EOC, phone, FAX, email and all communication resources to support the disaster for the National Weather Service, Red Cross and Massachusetts Emergency Management. Amateur Radio Operators lauded by MEMA officials as providing

“disaster intelligence” for the situation. NWS Hydrologist, Nicole Belk, gives high praise to Amateur Radio

Operators stating that NWS relied heavily on Hams to provide information with Emergency Management and Public Safety busy handling the first response to the disaster.

Over 350 Amateur Radio reports collected over the 3 day period on flooding and rainfall.
