HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! Welcome to yet another wonderful review of the last month with your fabulous Marina KIWIN’S club. If you’re new here, I welcome you with a warm heart, open arms, and can’t wait to meet you! If you are returning, WASSUP MY PEEPS. I am the 2016-2017 vice president or otherwise known as “that very loud girl”. I hope all did well during your AP’s as well as your finals and I wish you all safe journeys for your vacations in the summer. BUT I am sad to see all of our devoted seniors leave home. Our ohana will never forget you and you are always a part of our family, whether you were in

KIWIN’S or not. Our summer events are going to be our last chances to hang out with this year’s group of people. I hope

everyone takes advantage of this and volunteers while having some fun in the sun. Get in those extra hours before

school even starts! As cheesy and ‘punny’ as we are as a club, it is great to start getting connections and

meeting new friends through these events when everyone is just trying to get a life. T-T I

encourage everyone to take a step into the KIWIN’S world and experience our

atmosphere. for you to fall in love with. If you ever see me at school stop me

and introduce yourself! I’ll be happy to be your friend (cause I

have none *cries*). Hope to see you all soon.

May DCM/Lei Social Date: Saturday, May 21st Time: 1 - 3:30 PM Location: Plavan Park First DCM of the term, making leis, new divisional board and raising some last funds for Project ELIMINATE! What a great time!

Members greeted those who came, lifted tables, chairs and helped out with the snack bar! How many members came out to this event? More than Five!...Six!...Seven!...Eight! Tinkerbell Marathon Date: Sunday, May 8th Time: 2:30 - 10:30 AM Location: Disneyland Parking Structure We helped set up and pass out water to the runners as well as cheered the runners to MUFASA. Total Members: 30 Total Hours: 174

Members gathered for one last hurrah at our banquet. We served Chipotle as members

were given awards and recognition for their hard work throughout the year. We also had speeches from many different people, from our old to current board, general members,

alumni, and even people from other schools. Not to mention the different ice breakers we had such as musical chairs and Disney trivia.

Member of the Month: Kathryn Nguyen For the month of May, Marina has decided to nominate Kathryn Nguyen as Member of the Month. This past month, Kathryn has shown increasing attendance in service events and has also shown spirit. Through most of the year, Kathryn has been moderately active, but she has recently been attending more service events, and also supporting the club at fundraisers. She even attended the club’s banquet, and managed to encourage some of her friends to attend also. Whenever we have an event or need someone to run an errand for the club, Kathryn consistently arrives early and always volunteers to help us out when needed. She has the great work ethic of a true volunteer and it shows. Being punctual is great, but the fact that Kathryn goes to lengths to arrive as early as a board member shows advanced leadership skills and proficiency. Kathryn has proven to be a member of great character, and this is why she has been nominated for member of the month.
