Lerner and Loewe’s smash hit features a modern twist on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, as Eliza Doolittle takes speech lessons from Professor Henry Higgins in hopes that she will someday pass as a lady. Frequently called “the perfect musical,” My Fair Lady has stood the test of time as one of Broadway’s most beloved musicals, a true classic of the genre. Season with an amazing concert. Pianist Alex McDonald performs Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2 in Bb Major. Since his orchestral debut at age 11, pianist Alex McDonald has soloed with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de Mexico, the Louisiana Philharmonic, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and the Utah Symphony Orchestra, among others. Alex McDonald is currently on faculty at Texas Woman’s University, having previously taught at Richland College as well as at the Juilliard School. 2018 GISD High School Senior Art Competition WinnersThe Garland Cultural Arts Commission, Inc. announced the winners of the 2018 GISD High School Art Competition. Cash awards totaling $3,900 were given to First, Second, Third, and Fourth Place winners during a reception on March 21st at the Granville Arts Center. The 2018 GISD Visual Arts Show was directed by David Sanders, Coordinator of Visual and Performing Arts for GISD.
