Methodology:
1. materials
coconut water
coconut husk
dried coffee Newspaper
paper waste
Heat resistant Plastic Bag
PVC Ring
Mushroom Spawn
2. Set-upAssembling the Substrate
1. Grind the Dried Coconut husk Husk, Dried Coffee Grounds,Paper Waste to a soil-like consistency not too fine though not too
coarse.2. Moisten the mixture by adding two tablespoons of coconuthusk water then mix again.3. Tear the newspaper into long strips and place into the plasticbag, filling the bag only a quarter of the way.4. Place the mixture into the plastic bag, filling another quarterof the same bag.5. Add a few more strips of newspaper and place and eighth ofa cup of the mixture in the bag.6. Pack the bag tightly but leave little air inside.7. Place a PVC Ring at the hole, cover it with a small piece of
newspaper and close it tight with a rubber band.
Sterilizing the Substrate
1. Pressure cook it for 2 hours to sterilize it.2. Leave it in a warm, dark place for two nights.
Inoculation of Spawn
1. Inoculate the mushroom spawn2. Open the Plastic bag careful not to open it too much. The mouth
of the bag must still be within the PVC Ring.3. Bore a hole in the middle of the mixture.4. Place about a tablespoon of the spawn into the hole.5. Replace the mouth of the plastic bag with the rubber band.6. Place it again in the warm dark place.

The researchers will wait for the mushroom to grow, returning to checkthe progress every week. When they check the progress, they willmeasure the number of caps of mushrooms, the average width of the capsand the number of mushrooms that will grow.
Measuring the Average Umbrella Width1. Measure width of the umbrella of all mushrooms of each fruiting bag.2. Compute the average.
a. total of widths measurednumber of mushrooms measured
Measuring the Average Number of Spawn1. Count the number of spawn of each fruiting bag.2. Compute the average.
a. total of number of spawnnumber of fruiting bags
The length of time it will take for the mushrooms to grow will also bemeasured. All findings will be compared to the "control".

Pierre Simon Laplace
born at Beaumont-en-Auge, Normandy on March 23, 1749
died at Paris on March 5, 1827
contributions1. spherical harmonics
o the angular portion of a set of solutions to Laplace's equation
o are a specific set of spherical harmonics that forms an
orthogonal (perpendicular) system2. Laplace Equation
o a second-orderpartial differential equation(type ofdifferential
equation(a mathematicalequation for an unknownfunction of oneor several variables that relates the values of the function itself andits derivatives of various orders)involving an unknown function)
o
where is the Laplace operator(a.k.a. Laplace; sink of thegradient) and is a scalar function of 3 variables
o In Cartesian system
3. Laplace transform( )o Any integral transform(input of this transform is a functionf, and
the output is another function Tf)
o
Where k= , t1= , t2=4. Laplace Expansion
o expresses the determinant |B| as a sum ofn determinants of (n-
1) (n-1) sub-matrices ofB.o Theorem Suppose B = (bij) is an n n matrix and i,j {1, 2, ...,n}
o the determinant
5. Laplace limito 0.66274 34193 49181 58097 47420 97109 25290
o maximum value of the eccentricity for which the series solution to
Kepler's equation convergeso the radius of convergence of the power series
6. Laplace principle (large deviations theory)o basic theorem in large deviations theory (concerns the asymptotic
behaviour of remote tails of sequences of probability distributions)
