This year we offer a breakfast program at each school daily. All meals are analyzed and meet federal nutritional guidelines for children. Research indicates that children who participate in School Lunch have superior nutritional intakes compared to those who do not participate. We invite your student(s) take advantage of these meal programs at your school. Choices of entrees are available each day including both hot and cold selections. There are a variety of kid-friendly vegetables, fruits and cold milks to choose from. In an effort to provide a balanced meal all students are offered at least five components each day; however your child may choose as few as three foods to complete a meal. Many studies show that children who eat a good breakfast every day learn better, behave better and perform more effectively than children who do not eat breakfast. A school breakfast is made of at lest 3, but not more thatn 4 meal components which are defined as 1 sering of fruit or juice, 1 serving of milk, 1 oz meat/ meat alternative, 1 Grain/Bread Some combination foods count as more than one component (Breakfast Pizza). Available every school day to all students for $1.20 and served from 8:15 to -8:45 am Our daily lunch served at each school must include five components: a protein source, bread, a vegetable, a fruit and eight ounces of milk. Choices of entrees are available each day, including PBJ’Wich and Deli Turkey Sandwich. There is a variety of vegetables, fruits and cold milks to choose from.
