FWT SYSTEMS: Measuring and Control instruments
FWT® controllers feature various functions for continuous measurements and different levels of operating modes
and programming procedures. FWT® controllers are suitable to cover a wide range of technical requirements,
safety and able to match different price demands. Two series are available:
TOUCH series
TOUCH series is a multifunction system with touch screen display, chemical parameter controller and a management
control system. TOUCH series is a work-in progress controller: the featured functions make it the most versatile controller
unit on the market. The alphanumerical touch screen and an internal timer allows the operator to allocate each auxiliary
output according to the system requirements thus creating a full customization.
TOUCH series can be appropriately to be consider a Central
management unit for Industry, water systems, BMS (Building
management system) and Domotic applications. Along with high
quality performance in terms of measurements and functions Touch
screen is easy to operate as most of the people are accustom to the
latest smart equipment.
CTRL series
CTRL is a compact controller series with many functions and models, which make the unit extremely versatile, and covers
different type of requirement. Simple and price effective CTRL series tops more sophisticated unit in terms of
measurements and functions thus satisfying most of the requirements for an instrument. Any model will always feature high
quality measurement and functions performance.
Some of the models within CTRL series feature also functions that allow
external auxiliary outputs to complement the unit to most of systems
requirements to obtain a complete management control from parameter
measurements to control other equipments included in the system.

TOUCH SERIES SIGNIFICANT FEATURES OVERVIEW
� Auxiliary functions drive remote equipment either via relay outputs or by means of a timer programming, allowing the
user to choose the exact time, date, week these and time duration the equipment must operate;
� PH measurements can be changed to RX just changing the parameter during programming and using RX electrode;
� Chlorine measurements features 4 chlorine ranges suitable for Membrane type chlorine sensors 0-2 ppm, 0-20 ppm,
0-200 ppm and also for open type chlorine cell range 0-10 ppm;
� Conductivity measurements are shown in Siemens features K factor ranges (Cell Constant) selectable by the operator:
ranges K1 20.000 μS; K 5 up to 2.000 μS; K 0,1 up to 200.000 μS; K10 up to 200 μS;
� PPM measurements suitable for Membrane type sensors for various ranges: 2 ppm, 20 ppm, 200 ppm, 2000 ppm,

programming, almost self-explanatory and the elegant wide display allows easy vision. Different models are available each
featuring different functions to ensure a high level of measurement accuracy and safety.
OPTIONS UPON REQUEST:
WI-FI remote control (pen drive not included) in real time by pc, smartphone or tablets: it allows connecting via WIFI and
change programming and settings. Unit will send an email in case of alarm level or overdosing.

FWT controllers feature two programming menu:
- Basic menu with simplified functions;
- Expert: complete programming including functions for more refined control and results.
TOUCH series
SELECTING MEASURING PARAMETER PH/RX
Measuring parameter can be changed from PH to RX and consequently changing display and measurement data and programming parameter settings.
SELECTING CHLORINE MEASURING RANGE
Chlorine controller is set as for 4 ranges:
- Membrane type ion selective sensor, covering ranges 0-2 ppm; 0-20 ppm; 0-200 ppm;
- Open chlorine cell (CLC3 model) range 0-10 ppm
CHANGING VALUES
- CTRL series has a keyboard with buttons for changing values placed on the front panel;
- TOUCH series shows a keyboard where operator can touch the screen for changing values;
AUXILIARY OUTPUTS
Auxiliary outputs can remote control various functions related to external equipment and dosing pump including automatic
Open chlorine cell cleaning. Each output can drive remote equipment or devices according to a very accurate programming
of minutes/hours/days/weeks.
AUX1 output can be set for remote control of external equipment or for a cleaning program of Open Chlorine cell (FWT
series CLC); other AUX outputs only have remote control external equipment.
CTRL series
Operator can program the working days and weeks and
the exact time of the unit operations (ON-OFF mode).
Program settings features many steps, which can be programmed to have the most
accurate operation with absolute precision (up to 99 programs for each AUX output).
TOUCH series
Once choosing edit, a keypad will appear on the touch screen for selecting required values.

CTRL B EC COOL
FWT has many years of experience and a comprehensive product range for
all processes connected with cooling water conditioning, in a wide variety of
designs for every application.
CTRL EC COOL is a compact system for cooling tower control for
centralising control that addresses the operation of cooling towers in a
practical and economic way, specially designed for cooling water treatment
and blow-down operations, air scrubbers and humidifiers of any industrial
air-conditioning systems.
The controller integrates other process equipment such as: a range of
Conductivity sensors (according to measuring range) and versatile control
options for flow meters, blow-down solenoid or flap valves.

BLEED OPERATIONS
CTRL EC COOL controller offers two modes concerning the Bleed mode (blow-down) operations of the EV:
TIMER mode: the internal timer independently of the conductivity level in the cooling tower will drive the EV.
CONDUCTIVITY mode: it processes the conductivity level to control blow-down operations.
INHIBITOR DOSING CONTROL OPERATIONS CTRL EC COOL controller features 4 inhibitor dosing pump operations modes:
BLEED DIRECT starts Inhibitor dosing when the bleed valve is open (works in parallel to EV);
BLEED % inhibitor is dosed after EV closing in % time equal to the last discharge time duration;
TIMER inhibitor dosing via an internal Timer: at the start of each period, dosing pump will work for a pre-set time;
WATER METER is active during the re-integration of makeup water and is driven by external water meter
pulse proportionally to flow.
BIOCIDE DOSING CONTROL OPERATIONS
CTRL EC COOL features 2 Biocide dosing programs. Most cooling tower systems include two biocides programs to ensure
efficient disinfection quality. Internal timer controls two dosing pumps and various metering processes.
- TIME PROGRAMMING: Biocide mode features many steps to have the most accurate dosing operation with
absolute precision: Program number (up to 99 programs for each biocide); Biocide dosing pump active Time
cycle; Biocide dosing pump start dosing time; Biocide dosing pump operating days, week of the month.
- BLEED LOCK OUT TIME: Biocide Lock-out mode: EV bleed operations, Inhibitor dosing pump and Biocide2
dosing pump are stopped for the duration of Biocide operations thus avoiding chemical waste.
- PRE-BLEED TIME: Lower conductivity then selected set point (Set point HIGH) enabling desalination before
biocide dosing and disabling bleed EV afterwards.

REMOTE CONTROL FEATURES
Both TOUCH and CTRL+, CTRL 2/6 and CTRL3 series are suitable for remote control
by RS485 expansion board with Modbus protocol using FWT SmartApp® software.
ETHERNET connection allows the operator to connect to the unit via pc, smartphone or
tablets and change programming and settings using FWT SmartApp® software. Unit will
signal once reaching alarm level, overdosing settings or Max dosing pump time out.
WIFI connection allows the operator to control in real time TOUCH series operations via
Internet by PC, Mac, Tablets and Smartphone (WiFi pen drive not included).
A self-explanatory program allows changing settings and programming. Unit will send
an email once reaching alarm levels, overdosing point or Max dosing pump time out.
