  • Mechanizing the world

    Italian Agricultural MachineryManufacturers Federation

  • Five specialised sectors

The Federation acts as an umbrella organisation for five industry associations representing various sectors of the agricultural, forestry and gardening machinery industry, with the aim of promoting mechanisation and technological innovation as a response to the different demands arising throughout the agricultural and green keeping industry.

  • COMACOMPis the association which groups manufacturers of: mechanical components, hydraulic components, electric-electronic components, miscellaneous components, irrigation components and spraying components.

ASSOTRATTORIis the association which groups the manufacturers of tractors.

COMAGARDENis the association which groups manufacturers of garden machinery.

ASSOMASEis the association which groups the manufacturers of self-propelled machines (all agricultural machinery with one or more axles and powered by an engine, other than tractors).

ASSOMAOis the association which represents the manufacturers of implements for: tilling, seeding, transplanting, fertilizing, crop protection, irrigation, harvesting, first processing after harvesting, livestock raising and handling and transport.

  • Italian production of tractors, agricultural machinery, gardening machinery and their components - year 2017 (values in Euro)

A federation of mechanical engineering concerns

FederUnacoma has been representing the interests of a broad spectrum of mechanical engineering companies within Conndustria's system since 1945. The federation groups the associations of manufacturers in the field of machinery, equipment and technology for agriculture, gardening and green keeping and components. The industrial companies repre-sented by the federation play a key role on the international stage, holding high-ranking positions in terms of production capacity, breadth of range and effectiveness in meeting the most various demands of the agricultural and related sectors.Through FederUnacoma the Italian mechanisation enterprises are able to interface with institutions, promoting innovation, business culture and the penetration of national and inter-national markets.

In 2017 the production of tractors and agricultural machinery in Italy reached a value of 7.8 billion Euro, with components and gardening machinery bringing in an additio-nal 2.5 billion Euro and 800 million Euro respectively.

Having evolved in close contact with the highly varied agricultural practices in the differentregions of the country, the Italian agricultural mechanisation industry has designed and fine-tuned technological solutions for all types of processes and for all climatic and environmental conditions. This background has allowed many companies making up the productive fabric of the sector to manufacture a vast range of machinery and equipment able to meet technological demands from the Italian regions and above all from foreign markets. The machines produced by the Italian manufacturers, specialised in arable crops as well as in horticulture, fruit-growing and winegrowing, are in high demand in many parts of the world thanks to their proven capability to be suitable to the most dierent agricultural practices. Product categories pertaining to the federation include machinery, other than tractors, for: soil-working; sowing, transplanting and fertilizer distribution; crop protection; irrigation; harve-sting; first processing and conditioning of products; livestock husbandry; handling and transport; forestry and agricultural and forest biomass treatment. In the garden sector the federation counts the national industry of equipment for professional and hobbyist greens keeping whilst in the wide sector of componentry represents the manufacturing companies of components or systems of components for OEM or spare parts for agricultural and gardening machinery.

  • Promotional and exhibition events

FederUnacoma is active in the areas of promotion and trade exhibitions, organising a range of high profile international events:EIMA International (International Agricultural and Gardening Machinery Exhibition) in Bologna,a prestigious biennial event that offers a preview of the best products on the world stage, attracting around 1,950 exhibitors from more than 50 countries with a total number of 50,000 products on display; Agrilevante, another international agricultural mechanisation event heldbiennially in Bari in the south of Italy and specialised in markets and products of the Mediterra-nean area; EIMA Show, a dynamic exhibition with field trials organised both in Italy and abroad; EIMA Agrimach (International Exhibition of Agri-Machinery & Equipment), which is held biennially in New Delhi and offers mechanisation companies a direct contact with an increasingly important market such as that one of the Indian subcontinent. In addition, working in collaboration with Italian Trade Agency (ICE-Agenzia) and with trade fair organiza-tions in dierent countries, FederUnacoma also organises a large number of the Italian exhibi-ting areas at the main foreign sectoral events.
