“ACCIDENT DETECTION AND REPORTING SYSTEM USING GPS, GPRS AND GSM TECHNOLOGY”
Speed is one of the basic reasons for vehicle accident. Many lives could have been saved
if emergency service could get accident information and reach in time. Nowadays, GPS
has become an integral part of a vehicle system. This paper proposes to utilize the
capability of a GPS receiver to monitor speed of a vehicle and detect accident basing on
monitored speed and send accident location to an Alert Service Center. The GPS will
monitor speed of a vehicle and compare with the previous speed in every second through
a Microcontroller Unit. Whenever the speed will be below the specified speed, it will
assume that an accident has occurred. The system will then send the accident location
acquired from the GPS along with the time and the speed by utilizing the GSM network.
This will help to reach the rescue service in time and save the valuable human life.

“INTELLIGENT WIRELESS STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM”
We propose an innovative wireless street lighting system with optimized management
and efficiency. Wireless communication uses ZigBee-based wireless devices which allow
more efficient street lamp system management, thanks to an advanced interface and
control architecture. It uses many sensors to control and guarantee the optimal system
parameters; the information is transferred point-by-point using ZigBee transmitters and
receivers and is sent to a control terminal used to check the state of the street lamps and
to take appropriate measures in case of failure. The system allows substantial energy
savings with increased performance and maintainability.

“A HYBRID WIRED/WIRELESS NETWORKING INFRASTRUCTURE FOR GREENHOUSE MANAGEMENT”
In this paper, the problems related to the management of a farm made up of several
greenhouses are discussed. The management of this kind of farms requires data
acquisition in each greenhouse and their transfer to a control unit which is usually
located in a control room, separated from the production area. At present, the data
transfer between the greenhouses and the control system is mainly provided by a suitable
wired communication system, such as a fieldbus. In such contexts, even though the
replacement of the wired system with a fully wireless one can appear very attractive, a
fully wireless system can introduce some disadvantages. In particular, in order to
integrate at the Data Link Layer the wireless section with the wired one, a suitable
multiprotocol bridge has been implemented. Moreover, at the Application Layer, porting
of Smart Distributed System services on ZigBee, called ZSDS, allows one to access the
network resources independently from the network segment they are connected to.

“A DRIVING BEHAVIOR DETECTION BASED ON A ZIGBEE NETWORK FOR MOVING VEHICLES”
In this paper, a scheme of moving-vehicles behavior detection based on a Zigbee
network is proposed. Three-axis accelerometers are installed on vehicles to capture the
moving vehicle postures. A fuzzy inference system is developed to infer the six basic
states of vehicle posture, such as normal driving, left/right turning, departure, accelerate,
braking and bumping. Based on the recognition of vehicle postures, the dangerous
driving behaviours of vehicle such as serpentuate will be detected. In this paper,
the design and development of hardware, vehicle posture measurement and dangerous
driving behaviour inferences are presented and realized. Additionally, an Android APP is
developed to offer human-machine interface. The detection results and GPS information
are showed in this developed system. The system sends message to related user if
dangerous driving behavior is detected. The detected data is stored to cloud for further
application.

“DESIGN AND REALIZATION OF HOME APPLIANCES CONTROL SYSTEM BASED ON THE ANDROID SMARTPHONE”
The remote appliances control system based on the Android smart phone is designed and
realized. A user logs into the smart phone interface, and clicks the buttons gently to send
message commands which will be transmitted to home information center through the
GSM network. Then the ARM processor recognizes the specified command, and controls
the home appliance switches in the wireless radio frequency manner to achieve remote
control of appliances ultimately. This paper focuses on the design of Android terminal, the
communication between ARM and GSM module, the realization of the wireless module
device's driver, the difficulty in supplying the appropriate low-voltage DC for MCU and
wireless module just by a single live wire. The system has the features of easy installation
and low cost, and the hardware and software can be customized and extended. What's
more, the users can manipulate appliances anytime, anywhere, letting our houses
become more and more automated and intelligent.

“DETECTING AND MITIGATING DRIVER DISTRACTION WITH MOTION CAPTURE TECHNOLOGY: DISTRACTED DRIVING WARNING SYSTEM” Distracted driving contributes to a significant portion of vehicle accidents and deaths. To
mitigate distracted driving, the University of Virginia Center to Promote Effective Youth
Development sponsored the development of a noninvasive system to detect and warn
drivers of their distraction. This distracted driving warning system is installed in the
medium-fidelity driving simulator of the Virginia Driving Safety Laboratory (VDSL). The
system is composed of (i) the Microsoft Kinect motion sensing hardware for tracking
head and skeletal movements and (ii) a custom software application for identifying four
distractions and outputting audio alerts. The system is able to identify (a) reaching for a
moving object, (b) talking on a cell phone, (c) personal hygiene, and (d) looking at an
external object. To recognize these distractions, the algorithms for (a), (b), and (c) use the
relative distances between spatial locations of various skeletal joints, and the algorithm
for (d) use the yaw, pitch and roll of the head.

“DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF AN AUTOMATIC SOLAR”
Renewable energy resources are getting priorities in the whole world to lessen the
dependency on conventional resources. Solar energy is rapidly gaining the focus as an
important means of expanding renewable energy uses. Solar cells those convert sun's
energy into electrical energy are costly and inefficient. Different mechanisms are applied
to increase the efficiency of the solar cell to reduce the cost. Solar tracking system is the
most appropriate technology to enhance the efficiency of the solar cells by tracking the
sun. A microcontroller based design methodology of an automatic solar tracker is
presented in this paper. Light dependent resistors are used as the sensors of the solar
tracker. The designed tracker has precise control mechanism which will provide three ways
of controlling system.

“MODELING AND APPLICATION OF WIND-SOLAR ENERGY HYBRID POWER GENERATION SYSTEM BASED ON MULTI-AGENT TECHNOLOGY”
Agent technology is further development of artificial intelligence (AI). Multi-agent system
is an agent society made up of several agents. By the collaboration of multi-agent, it can
optimize control system and enhance its intelligence and reliability. Wind and solar energy
hybrid power generation is a novel and promising power system. Randomicity and
complexity of the climate make wind and solar hybrid power generation system a
complicated system. In this paper, we first introduce advanced agent technology into wind
and solar energy hybrid power generation system, establish the wind and solar energy
hybrid power generation multi-agent system (WSHGMAS) and analyze multi agents'
collaboration relationship. At last, by the agent' application in WSHGMAS, it can realize
sea-island, remote region, unmanned operation' wind-solar energy hybrid power
generation system and enhance power system' intelligence and reliability.

“ANTI THEFT AND MONITORING SYSTEM OF STREET LAMP POWER CABLES “
A novel anti-theft and monitoring method of street lamp power cables is presented in the
paper. The method is based on capacitance current resonance measurement principle. A
current signal with frequency varying is injected to the street lamp power system, then the
resonance frequency can be found The equivalent capacitance and the length of the cable
can be calculated. Whether the cable is stolen or not can be judged, and the fault location
can be calculated. The novel method is no necessary to add equipment to the end of
street lamp power cables, and it's not influenced by power transformer types and the
cable length. Simulation experimentations are carried out. Simulation results show that
the method is simple and correct.

“ZIGBEE-BASED IR REMOTE CONTROL REPEATER AND ITS CONTROL MESSAGE FRAME FORMAT”
Many legacy consumer devices are controlled via IR remote controls. A user needs one IR
remote control per one legacy consumer device and has to guarantee the line of sight
towards legacy consumer devices. As the ubiquitous home era emerges, all home devices
are required to be controllable at anytime and anywhere. To control IR-based legacy
consumer devices regardless of the line of sight, a small ZigBee-based IR remote control
repeater is attached near the IR receiving part of a legacy consumer device. It receives the
control message via ZigBee protocol and converts the received message into IR signal
which is transmitted to the legacy consumer device. To be available for any IR-based
consumer device without any modification, it should be made universal and generalized.
In this paper we propose the IR remote control repeater and the control message frame
format applicable to all types of IR-based legacy consumer devices.
