NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MEDFORD, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Mayor be hereby authorized to submit the grant application to theExecutive Office of Environmental Affairs, Division of Conservation
Services.
2. That the City Council appropriates the sum of $292,000.00 for the
implementation of the Phase I project.
3. That the Mayor be hereby authorized to take such other actions as are
necessary to carry out the terms, purposes, and conditions of this grant to
be administered by the Office of Community Development; and
4. That the resolution shall take effect upon passage.
AUTHORIZATION TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THECOMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS, EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF ENERGYAND ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS, DIVISION OF CONSERVATION SERVICESTO THE OUR COMMON BACKYARDS PROGRAM FOR DESIGN ANDCONSTRUCTION OF A PLAYGROUND AND ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENTSAT “MAGOUN PARK” IN MEDFORD AND TO APPROPRIATE THE FUNDS NECESSARY FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT

I respectfully request and recommend that your Honorable Body appropriate $292,000
from SALE of REAL ESTATE, line item 124-102-5971-0000-0000-106-0000-0000 toCapital Account - Magoun Park.
Once the reimbursement from the state occurs, I will request your Honorable Body totransfer the net costs to city to Sale of Real Estate Account.
The balance after appropriation will be $200,365.
