Introduction

When it comes to producing different forms of media, the end product requires a way for other people to view it. This is where distribution companies come in.

There are two different types of distribution companies that you can

use to sell your form of media. These are; Conglomerates Independent companies

Conglomerates

A conglomerate is a large company which owns either small portions of other media companies, or completely owns them. An example of this is Universal studios which owns many different companies including Music distributors, book publishers and cinemas.

This kind of company would distribute our media thriller if it was either a big budget, blockbuster, Or part of a well known franchise that has spanned several years like Star Wars or The Matrix.

If we wanted to get our Thriller distributed by this type of company we would need to make sure that it is made to perfection and be able to convince executives from Universal that our product will make the money they invest back.

Independent Companies

Independent companies are much smaller then conglomerates, generally confined to just one or two individuals or one company in itself. They are required to fund their own projects or have to go to other companies to ask for loans with the promise of repaying them.

Some examples of these kinds of companies are Blind Crow pictures, Ruby films and Archer street films.

These kinds of companies would probably agree to aid in the distribution of our Thriller because it has started off the same way that they have had too. With a very small budget and lack of technological resources. This would probably make them more inclined to assist as they know how hard it would be to attain a larger companies help or try to distribute on our own.

Conclusion

In conclusion, when it comes to the final distribution of our media thriller we can either go down the path of using a conglomerate which would require a high budget film that we would then need to promise a small amount of the initial investment to produce, Or we could go down the independent route and which would be far cheaper and would be assisted by people who understand the difficulty of distributing a product to the general public.

Thanks for Listening.
