    Question 1 Media Evaluation

This shot represents a link between the lyrics ofthe song and the video. At this point in the songthe artist sings the lyrics you got to make themove. The character in the music video thenmakes his move by crashing through the gateand risking his life to get to the door.

This is a shot that can be used to represent how therecord company may want to represent their artists. As the artist is wearing a hoodie and jeans, with hishood up. He looks like the majority of what the artiststarget audience may wear. This makes the artistrelatable to the audience.

The genre of our music video is dance music. This shot is a close up of a character firing agun. The special effects used are often used inother dance videos that revolve around astoryline.

This shows an inter-textual reference between my musicvideo and the movie Wanted. The shot that shows thebullet that comes out of the gun is similarly shot in thefeature movie Wanted. When the audience sees thisthey will immediately think of the film wanted.

This shot shows how we used the camera to zoom on theactions of the character. This looks as if the scene is seenfrom the chest of the character, in a way it is point of view, however from the chest of the character and not theiractual view.

This shot demonstrates how we used lighting as webrought a media lamplight that was >>>watt, as thescene would have been too dark before. The light wasused to create a better shot.

This shot demonstrates mise en scene in a numberof ways. On the left we see a character dressed incostume to portray him as a villain. The house inthe background shows where the following scenestake place. The audience can orientate themselveswith the following scenes.

This is a close up that is similar to one inthe music video You and I by Zeds dead ft.Omar Linx. We changed the angle of theshot to make it more direct and aggressive.

This shot is similar to a shot inthe music video for Armin Van Buurenft Fiona Waiting for the night.

Both singers are leaning againstwalls. However we made ours lighter

and easier to see the images in the shot.

These two screenshots were from the musicvideo by B-Real, Coolio, Method Man, LL Cool J,and Busta Rhymes for their song Hit em high. The whole video was an inter-textual referencefor the film space jam.

This screenshot is from the music video forBetter half of me by Dash Berlin ft. JonathanMendelsohn. The shot is taken from a helicopter

to give it an extreme birds eye view.

This screenshot is taken from the music

video for the song Molly by Cedric Gervais. The whole music video is set in a clubbingatmosphere, so special lighting effects wouldneed to be used in order to create the scenewhilst still making it recordable.

This screenshot is from the music video for thesong Goldie by A$AP Rocky. This sets the scenefor the rest of the music video, as it is black and

white apart from the gold. The song is about beingwealthy or well off, and old is a symbol of this. The smoke in the shot is a way of confirming thegenre of hip-hop. This shot sets the scene for therest of the music video. (mise en scene)

When I saw the music video for Wasted (left) by

French Montana ft Chinx Drugz, it immediatelyreminded me of the music video below hands on thewheel by Schoolboy Q ft. A$AP Rocky. Both hadalcoholic beverages in the shots and both were blackand white throughout the music videos. Both werealso of the genre hip-hop.
