The House of Representative initiates the revision to the 2009 Mining Law with one of the pressing issues is on whether or not to continue the three-year export ban policy on unprocessed minerals. On the other hand, the government has raised plan to allow export of unprocessed minerals by 2017 for three to five years that would be included on the revised Mining Law.

Indonesia Heavy Equipment Manufacturers Association (HINABI) says that the heavy equipment production has been faltering since 2012 following the lingering price downturn of mining commodities. Local Content in Coal-Fired Power Plant

The report will positively cover the CSR spending trend among coal mining and

supporting companies in Indonesia, including how miners continuously

promote not just the advancement and development of its surrounding

communities, but also the environment.

The government has obliged developers of coal-fired power plants to use materials sourced from domestic manufacturers in a bid to support the manufacturing sector in Indonesia. Industry Minister Regulation No. 54/2012 on local content use for electricity infrastructure stipulates that, for instance, power plants under the 35 GW program will have to maintain a local content of 60 to 70 percent, and 30 percent for generators over 100 MW.
