Let Me In

This is the website for “Let me in”, a film released in cinemas 29/10/10. There are key features that help to promote the film that can be found throughout the website.

As you can see there are links which allow you to “become a fan on facebook” or “follow on twitter”. As it is aimed at 15-24 year olds this is a very successful way of ensuring a larger fan base as it is this age group that often use facebook and twitter. This has allowed the film to spread their advertising onto popular sites, getting more media coverage.

The website also provides links to “synopsis, cast & crew, Gallery, Videos, Downloads and Games. By providing the target audience with these links it ensures the website is eye catching and maintains the audience’s interest. It provides a lot of information for example the general overview of the film, and key information on characters etc.

The colours used are red and black, indicating at the genre of the film. With it being horror this is represented by the overall look of the website, as it looks quite eery and scary.

The Social Network

The Social Network website also provides the audience with interactive features such as twitter, facebook and others. As the film is primarily about the development of facebook it is evident that it will be aimed at the contemporary audience. This is both male and females aged from around 12-30, as this age group are most commonly found on facebook.

Intelligently the makers of the film selected fonts and colour schemes that mirror that of the ones used on the facebook website. This allows the audience to immediately recognise what the film is about, even before reading or hearing anything about it.

With the catch slogan it ensures the audience get a sense of the theme of the film, and by allowing them to view the trailer and use tumblr the audience will discover more about the film.
