Here we have the Masthead of this magazine, and it is in a Bold and outlined black font. It stands out from the background colour, and is called ‘The Reader’ as it is aimed to people (students) that love to read and learn.

This is the Subheading of the magazine, and will be used in accordance with the setting of a library, and also corresponding with one of the main rules of a library to ‘be silent’. It also links with the image of a student putting his finger over his mouth for silence in the room to study.

These are all located throughout the magazine cover, and are used to have Side headings including information. The information also includes the interior information , about what is inside the magazine, and furthermore, giving the user more detail. i.e., updates and tips.It will also help to give the student user help, possibly on study time.

A typical convention of a magazine would be to include the cost of the product. This allows the consumer/target audience member to understand how much disposable income they must spend to purchase this product, even though it is of a small amount nature.

Another typical convention of a magazine would be to include the issue number. This allows the user to know how far they are in the possible collection or purchase of the product/magazine. It also gives further information of the magazine and it’s existence time. The slogan is about learning, and gives a sense of motivation to students who want to learn and do well in their life and future. Also, it is quite catchy and boosts morale, especially for anyone who is struggling, and it will help increase their work ethics.Just like every other magazine, it will have/ includes a barcode. This is used to be scanned into the computer using a scanner, and to identify the cost, but most importantly to determine that it has been sold.

The setting is of a library which is commonly used for the basis of study time at schools for the students. It links with stereotypical student completing work in the library/ this area. It’s a typically used area in which any student spends their time for studying. The character is focused and reading a book. This shows concentration, focus, and also a great

learning environment. This is exactly what every student should want for their education.

There will be friendly images within the ‘Context Page’ that hold a high level of relevance within the magazine. With friendly images, it allows the magazine to feel more personal for the user. Also, they feel much more appreciated and friendly. It increases a sense of morale, and also makes it more interactive to read.

Just like any other magazine, they contain page numbers. This makes it easier for the user to keep on track. Also, to navigate to the aspired page, after checking for it via the context page.

The colour scheme (of the text in particular) will be rather simple. This is in terms of it being aimed for young adults, so it won’t have as many colours due to it suiting younger children. This magazine is for students that are the opposite of young and loud students.

The background colour will be old fashioned looking, and this is purposely used to signify an older learning environment. Traditionally, an older learning environment was sophisticated and stricter.
