Story Line O Our thriller opening is about the

disappearance of a girl whilst playing with a balloon in the forest. Even though we do not see the actual kidnapping taking place, by the girl running away and then a sudden blackout, it eludes the idea of the girl being kidnapped. Eventually at the end of the opening we see the search party looking for her and they find her head band.

Target Audience O The target audience from are thriller

opening is people from the ages of twelve and upwards. The reason why we chose this age range is because we believe from this age we believe that our audience will be able to understand what is happening.

Inspiration O When looking at ideas we could do

for our thriller opening we looked at the title sequence of “The Missing” and “Mayday”. These have helped us create an abstract and naturalistic title sequence ourselves.

Camera Angles O In our thriller film we have decided that we will start our film with

a mid shot of tree braches. The reason why we decided to start with this camera angle focusing on branches moving is because we believe that it sets the tone of the whole thriller opening.

O We then have a birds eye view of the girl playing in the grass. The reason why we made this our second shot is because we wanted to connote the idea of innocence form a child’s and audiences point of view

O From then onwards we will use a variety of other angles like long shots of people searching for the girl and of the girl herself running. Close up will be used in order for the audience to know the facial expressions of the character and extreme close ups to mark a particular moment e.g the police officer picking up the headband.

O We will also use other camera angles like mid shots, pans, high/low angles and point of view shots. To allow a variety of interpretation form the audiences point of view.

Costume and make-up O There are two main characters in our thriller

opening, one being the main person. O Our main character will be wearing a pink dress,

white socks and a pink hairband, holding a red balloon. Her make-up will be smudged down her face and red lipstick wiped over her mouth, so she looks like a bit of a mess and to suggest that she has been attacked. We also want to suggest that she is naive.

O The other character is the kidnapper. The kidnapper will be wearing a black tracksuit also, you will not be able to see his face because we want to create the feeling o insecurity.

Location O There are two locations used throughout this thriller

opening, both are outside but filmed in different parts of the park.

O First being set in an open field with high grass and lots of trees surrounding it, because we want her to feel isolated from everyone else and to feel small.

O The other being the search party that will be filmed in a variety of other places, like fields, streets and houses.

O The two parks that we are most likely to use to film are Crystal Palace park and also Kelsey park. The reason why we probably going to use these parks is because they suit the specifications that we want for our parks

Music O The music that we want to have in

our thriller opening will be evident throughout the majority of are opening. An example of some of our own individual interpretations are.

Lighting O All the lighting that will be seen

apart from the special effect lightings will be naturalistic.

O The reason why we want lighting like this because we want to make it seem to the audience as much as possible that the thriller opening is realistic.
