Medical and Health Sciences Study Tour - China27 November – 8 December 2017Sign up for a unique opportunity in China! Students enrolled in Medical Science, Human Biology, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Sport/Exercise Science, Biomedical Science or Paramedical Science are encouraged to apply for this stimulating study tour to Tianjin, China.
Students will undertake a structured academic program at Tianjin Medical University, including workshops, lectures and pratical sessions, as well as Chinese language and culture classes. There will be visits to culturally significant sites within the historical Tianjin City and various museums, and industry visits to hospitals, clinics and research facilities affiliated with Tianjin Medical University. There will be further opportunity to visit the Great Wall and Beijing on the weekend.
This study tour will provide students with a unique insight into the challenges within the Chinese health care system, current and future challenges and the intersection between traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
Depending on their discipline area, students may be eligible for credit towards one of the following units: • SCH1101 – Cultural Studies • PSP1108 - Clinical Skills for Paramedical Practice 1• In addition, if you have an elective space, you may
be able to enrol in the following unit: HST3501 International Project
The Australian Government, through the New Colombo Plan Mobility Program, is supporting this tour and up to 20 eligible students will receive up to $2,000 each to assist with their program costs.
