We are pleased to announce that Dr. Meera Bala Avila will be joining our group. A native Houstonian, Dr. Meera Avila was actually born at HCA Clear Lake Hospital. She went to Washington University in St. Louis for her undergraduate degree and returned to Houston to attend the University of Texas Health Science Center where she completed her Doctorate of Medicine. She also did her residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

She is well trained in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and is skilled in all routine GI endoscopy procedures. She is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association and Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.

Dr. Meera Avila is available to see patients at our main office at Ellington and our Clear Lake Office on Blossom St. She will provide inpatient consults at HCA Clear Lake Hospital. She is married to Dr. Nathaniel Avila who is also a gastroenterologist and who has been working with our group since 2019. She is a devoted mother to her three children and enjoys travel and tennis.
