People can watch it from different platforms such as on their smartphones or on a laptop/computer. for physical disc rentals they offer many different monthly service plans, a few include: ‘$7.99/month, you can rent unlimited DVDs, receiving only one disc at a time in the mail. Once you return that disc, Netflix will send you the next DVD on your list. For $11.99/month, you can receive two discs at a time, and for $15.99/month you can receive three discs at a time. When it comes to streaming video on demand, Netflix has a standard monthly charge of ‘$7.99/month’ Pay Per view Pay per view is when instead of paying an amount per month or over a certain time period, you are specifically paying for the things that you watch individually. You can purchase different events to view via a private telecast service. An example of this is Virgin media’s pay per view service through sky. This offers customers a chance to pay to watch specific live event such as live boxing/wrestling matches or live football matches. If people want to buy the ability to watch these events they have to be ordered up to 5 days before they’re broadcast. Sponsorship In TV, sponsorship is when a TV program TV/Network gets funded to help pay towards airtime. In sponsorship an offer to fund is received by commercial advertisement. However in some cases TV sponsorship funding is given to support the public broadcasting of programs without airing adverts.

Here is a table that displays the costs that ITV require from companies who want to be advertised on ITV. The money that they pay will help fund the ITV. The prices range depending on:

• The Region• Length of the commercial

• Time of day• The programming environment• The time of year• The target audience and volume of viewers

Product PlacementProduct placement is when manufactures of goods or providers of a service gain popularity by paying to have their brand shown on feature films and TV programmes. An example of a film that has successfully used the product placement money towards their production fund is James Bond. The James Bond franchise has had lots of highly paying, popular brands that they have been in partnership with to show their product/service on their films. By doing this they are benefiting not only themselves with the money but they are also allowing the company that they are working with to gain popularity and awareness. As the Bond films are so popular the price to have a product advertised is very large however it has been proven that the large cost payed is worth the gain in popularity. In the Bond film ‘Skyfall’ Daniel Craig (James Bond) drinks the brand Heineken’s beer in one of the bar scenes. This product placement used in the one scenes, costed Heineken around ‘£28 million’. This not only helped out the popularity and the sales of

Heiniken, but also the money that they paid to have their brand shown paid for ‘almost a third of the film’s £94 million budget’

Private capitalA film that has raised money from a private capital to get created is ‘Dear Dumb Diary’. This films interim financing was provided by ‘Media Capital Group’.

A film producer based in London successfully raised over 30% of the funds for his production of a Rom-Com by using a private investor that ‘Venture Giant’ found for them. The film that he created was called

To help distribution and to spread the awareness of the film ‘Testament of Youth’ The BFI and Lionsgate UK put on a special screening that streamed to 400 cinemas.“The special presentation of acclaimed wartime drama Testament of Youth will be beamed to 400 cinemas nationwide as part of a new initiative to bring great new British films to wider audiences.”
