Summertime at Quarry Hill meant a variety of programs. We celebrated
the July 4th Holiday week with a concert with the 40th Army Woodwind
Quintet. Seventeen year old violinist, Joanne Lin performed for us in July.
Joanne has been studying in NYC at Julliard for five years. She performed
selections for us from an upcoming competition that will be held at Oberlin
College. Thanks to Betsy Berry for making this beautiful musical event
happen. Jan Zatzman Orlansky, led a Zentangle Method class for residents
and family members. Zentangle is creating beautfiul images by drawing
structured patterns or tangles. Residents were taught the basics of creating
tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs.
Future classes will incorporate more elaborate designs, color and shading.
