We celebrated the July 4th Holiday week with a concert with the 40th Army Woodwind Quintet. Seventeen year old violinist, Joanne Lin performed for us in July. Joanne has been studying in NYC at Julliard for five years. She performed selections for us from an upcoming competition that will be held at Oberlin College. Thanks to Betsy Berry for making this beautiful musical event happen. Jan Zatzman Orlansky, led a Zentangle Method class for residents and family members. Zentangle is creating beautfiul images by drawing structured patterns or tangles. Residents were taught the basics of creating tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. Future classes will incorporate more elaborate designs, color and shading. AUGUST 2019 Meet Our Residents: Irwin Pensack Meet Our Staff: Nina Delisle Meet Housekeeping Associate, Nina Delisle. She was born in Winooskii, Vermont and grew up in S. Burlington where she attended S. Burlington High School. She grew up in a blended family of ten siblings. Nina has been married for 29 years to her husband, Edward. They have three children, two boys and one girl. They have five grandchildren ranging from three to 16 years of age. Following his service he went back to finish his degree. He got his masters degree at Columbia University in Audiology. In his career, he worked as an Audiologist and hearing aid dealer. He married his wife, Judy in 1954. They have two boys and their daughter Debbie lives in Richmond, VT. Irwin played tennis and enjoyed skiing in Stowe, VT. Why did they move to Quarry Hill? “It was near my daughter but we also just got tired of Marie Callendar’s frozen dinners!”. Summertime at Quarry Hill meant a variety of programs. We celebrated

the July 4th Holiday week with a concert with the 40th Army Woodwind

Quintet. Seventeen year old violinist, Joanne Lin performed for us in July.

Joanne has been studying in NYC at Julliard for five years. She performed

selections for us from an upcoming competition that will be held at Oberlin

College. Thanks to Betsy Berry for making this beautiful musical event

happen. Jan Zatzman Orlansky, led a Zentangle Method class for residents

and family members. Zentangle is creating beautfiul images by drawing

structured patterns or tangles. Residents were taught the basics of creating

Meet Our Residents: Irwin Pensack

Meet Our Staff: Nina Delisle

Meet Housekeeping Associate, Nina

Delisle. She was born in Winooskii,

Vermont and grew up in S. Burlington

where she attended S. Burlington High

School. She grew up in a blended family of

ten siblings. Nina has been married for 29

years to her husband, Edward. They have

three children, two boys and one girl. They

have five grandchildren ranging from three

to 16 years of age. In her spare time Nina

loves to draw and do crafts, particularly with

her grandchildren. Nina can be seen moving

her cart from one part of the bulding to

another, making sure resident rooms and

common areas are clean. What does she like

about working at the Residence at Quarry

Hill? Nina reflected, “I love being around

people. I like pleasing residents and

helping them when I can”. Nina takes her

job responsbilities seriously and we are glad

she is here at our community.
