landscaping, on the south side of the street and curb extensions at the Expo Light Rail Station Plaza; public art and high quality design creating a great new public space amenity while improving pedestrian circulation.

• An innovative two-way separated cycle track connecting the light rail station to local and regional bikeways.

• A combined pedestrian and bicycle scramble signal phase at the entrance to the Santa Monica Pier.

• Realignment of City streets to facilitate through movements and to provide direct access to the nation’s largest bicycle center that includes bike parking, showers, storage and rental.

The Colorado Esplanade was one of the key projects to enhance connections between the Santa Monica Downtown Expo Light Rail Station, Tongva Park, and historic Santa Monica Pier.
