MEET THE BLIND MONTH The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) has designated the month of October as Meet the Blind Month. It is our nationwide campaign to increase awareness of, and support for, the NFB. This person-to-person campaign is designed to educate the public about the NFB as the country’s leading resource on living well with blindness and innovative education and rehabilitation for the blind. During Meet the Blind Month, NFB affiliates and chapters around the country conduct a variety of activities to spread this message to their local communities. NFB members are asked to interact with the public in a number of venues and provide outreach to groups and individuals, including those who are losing or have lost vision. The NFB Jernigan Institute supports these grassroots activities by coordinating the nationwide campaign and providing access to materials. For more information about Meet the Blind Month and how you can be involved, please visit the Meet the Blind Month homepage at https://nfb.org/meet-blind-month or contact your local affiliate or chapter.
