AST on Friday, 13 March 2015.

• Need to reflect the relative achievement level of students with their peers.
• Places students into different courses according to their academic ability.
• Enables posting to Secondary Schools by merit and as far as possible into a school of their choice.
What is T-Score?
• It gives the relative standing of student’s performance as compared to the performance of all the other level students in that subject.
• PSLE Aggregate Score is a sum of the T-scores and NOT raw score of the 4 subjects.

• Not all students from FMS(P) can be admitted to FMSS, as admission to affiliated secondary school is subject to the availability of places.
• Refinement of Affiliation Policy to FMS(S) since 2011: Cut-off point to Express Stream is 200
• Students scoring between 188 to 199, obtaining an option band of Express and Normal (Acad), has to opt for Normal (Acad) in FMS(S) to stand a much high chance of being admitted to FMSS.

• Students need not sit for GCE ‘O’ level examination and can move on to JC 1 and 2 (i.e. Year 5 and 6).
• Students will sit for GCE ‘A’ level examination or International Baccalaureate (IB) at Year 6.
• Only some schools offer IP (e.g. SJI, RI, MGS, ACS(I), HCI, Dunman High, NJC etc.)
• Criteria for admission
– Top 10% cohort with CL
– Top 11 to 30% cohort who meet the language criteria: CL – A* OR HCL – Merit
• Bonus Points for admission to SAP schools for HMTL:
–Distinction – 3 points,
–Merit – 2 points and
–Pass – 1 point.

Direct School Admission (DSA)
What is DSA?
• An admission exercise to allow participating secondary schools to select some P6 students for admission to Secondary One since 2004.
• The selection will be based on their achievements and talents BEFORE the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results are released.

• To provide students an opportunity to demonstrate a more diverse range of achievements and talents in seeking admission to a secondary school
• To create more flexibility and options in school admission

• If DSA schools require a testimonial,
students should approach their form teachers and inform them early.
