Homework Tapestry (Online Learning Journal)

Children are given English and

Maths homework every week.

We ask children to attempt all

homework with the support of

families. Children to record to the

best of their ability, annotations

from parents

Homework is given on a Thursday

and we ask for it to be brought

back in to school on the following

Monday.

If you have any questions or need

further explanation of a

homework task please do not

hesitate to ask.

The children’s progress

throughout Reception is regularly

monitored via observations.

‘Remark on the remarkable’

We use the online learning journal

system Tapestry to collate

assessment information

Information will be fed back to

parents and accessed on mobile

devices and computers.

Parental observations can be

logged using a secure login system.

We value any contribution that

you would like to make to your

child’s journey in Reception

through discussions with your

child’s teacher and by inputting

them onto your child’s Tapestry

account.

Steps to Starting School

We want all of our children to

become independent and thrive at

school. Here are some of the things

that will aid your child’s development

and improve your child’s confidence

so that they start school confident,

curious and ready to learn.

Go to the toilet and wash hands

afterwards.

Eat lunch without help, using a

knife and fork, where

appropriate.

Put on a coat and gloves.

Get changed into their PE kit and

back into their uniform.
