MEET THE TEACHER

Hi! My name is Ms. Blackwell

and I am so grateful to be part of

the Dilworth first grade team!

More importantly, I am THRILLED

to be your teacher! It’s going to

be a fun year full of lots of

learning and new adventures. I

can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us. I want to know ALL

about you, but first I am going to tell you a little bit about me.

I was born and raised right here in Charlotte, NC and I am the youngest

of three. I have an older brother, Tyler, and an older sister, Lauren. I

LOVE them! When I graduated high school, I moved to Tennessee to attend

Sewanee: The University of the South. I majored in Art History and

minored in French.

When I returned to Charlotte, I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. I

attended UNCC Graduate School to earn my Graduate Teaching Certificate

in Elementary Education, while working as an Assistant Teacher in first

grade at Providence Day School. After completing two interim positions in

kindergarten and first grade, I couldn’t wait to have my very own classroom.

Last year I became an aunt for the

first time when my sister had her

son, Ben. I love him very much and

talk about him all the time! I also have

a cat and her name is Zoe. She is

the subject of many silly stories.

I am so excited to be your teacher

and for you to be a part of this
