INTRODUCTION Twenty years ago, conscious residents began to understand the benefits for

view is towards minimising a different kind of footprint: the energy, carbon, and

fine craftsmen may hold the key to meeting the challenges.

As consultants, designers, developers, and project managers we search for ways

to minimise the operating costs and environmental impacts of buildings, while

also increasing their functionality and appeal to occupants/clients. Energy
