Introduction

James Latham’s range of melamine-faced MDF and chipboard panels offers an unrivalled choice of pre-fi nished surfaces. Supplied ready for installation, our decors, which include recognised brands such as EGGER, Kronospan, Finsa and Rehau matching ABS Edging, offer both traditional and contemporary fi nishes which can be used in many applications including furniture, shopfi tting, bedrooms, kitchens, caravans and many more. Melamine is also extremely easy to maintain and exceptionally hard wearing, providing the fl exibility to explore different interior design trends and making it a perfect solution for commercial interiors.

Egger, who are recognised as the market leaders for decor development, offer over 100 decors in both MFC and decorative MDF from the ZOOM® collection.

Due to the recent developments in the quality and realism of decor reproductions melamine fi nishes are increasingly being specifi ed for use in major commercial projects such as shops and hotels, as well as being the key material in many furniture applications ranging from kitchens and bedrooms to living rooms and bathrooms.

Kronospan have created their range from wide ranging research of global trends, from listening to the industry and from attending all the major design shows. Each year their new décor selection is made via a review centred on Kronospan’s

yearly Forum. The genius of Kronospans new Natural Touch Range Touch is to take those prized qualities of grain and tone and deliver them in a consistent form through a manufactured board. It allows designers to realise their work perfectly in production, time after time with incredibly realistic grainingand exceptional consistency in colour and form.

Finsa’s new Superpan Decor consists of two external MDF faces and a chipboard core coated with a decorative melamine paper. Due to its smooth and compact fi bre wood surface, Superpan Decor enables a perfect cutting, signifi cantly reducing surface chipping, therefore improving effi ciency. Superpan Decor also eliminates the effect of particle telegraphingon the surface, which is most visible in the higher glossfi nishes. Superpan Décor’s improved bending strength and modulus of elasticity make it the board of choice for qualityfurniture production.

New to James Lathams is a stock range of 2440 x 1220 x 18mm Woodgrain MF MDF from UNILIN. The size of the boards makes handling easy and is ideal for fi nishing all kinds of interior projects. UNILIN has designed a new range in-house for this, with different, exclusive wood patterns. In addition, the collection also includes a number of fantasy designs that can be used in combination or as stand-alone. Essential thus offers a vigorous collection with unique designs and dimensions forall kinds of interiors.

EGGER EURODEKOR® MFC (Melamine Faced Chipboard)

EURODEKOR® MFC has a chipboard core, covered with a decorative paper which is an ideal material for a wide range of furniture and interior applications.

Standard sheet size: 2800 x 2070 x 18mm

8mm, 10mm, 12m, 15mm, 16mm, 22mm, 25mm, 28mm, 32mm and 38mm also available with prompt availability.

EGGER EUROLIGHT®

EGGER EUROLIGHT® is the innovative, lightweight wood-based material to meet increasing demand for greater design fl exibility. The sandwich board construction offers a generous 38mm and 50mm thicknesses and robust load bearing strength which ensures EUROLIGHT® satisfi es the most contemporary furniture and interior design requirements. From an aesthetical viewpoint, thicker materials are increasingly associated with higher quality, but from a practical viewpoint, the lighter weight allows easier handling and reduces transport and installation costs.

EUROLIGHT® Decor offers the same surface quality and choice as the EURODEKOR® range and is also available with matching ABS edging.

EUROLIGHT® is a composite board made from high-strength 8mm EUROSPAN® raw chipboard (E1 P2 CE) top and bottom layers together with a robust honeycomb core. The thickness and quality of the surface layers allow frameless fabrication using conventional machinery and can be either melamine faced or bonded to a laminate or veneer.

Areas of application include exhibition stands, interior doors, tables, shelving, shopfi tting applications, various offi ce furniture, contemporary domestic furniture, kitchens and worktops.

Decors and materials can be seamlessly combined, giving freedom for interior design, shopfi tting and furniture manufacturing.Our product ranges have been developed to provide a complete mix and match system.

EGGER EURODEKOR® MFC, EURODEKOR® MDF, Laminates, and ABS Edging, are all available in matching decors.

The availability of different materials in the same decor, allows the materials to be used and co-ordinated throughout a project. Substantial project costs can be saved by using the most appropriate materials for the application required, whilst ensuring colour continuity. Removing over-specifi cation without compromising aesthetics is often referred to as Value Engineering. This also allowsthe designer to focus on the choice of decor knowing that it is possible in multiple materials.

EGGER Laminate

EGGER Laminate offers robust properties with attractive design. Due to its multi-layered construction, laminate is the perfect material for high traffic areas or where a hard wearing surface is required, such as counter tops and reception desks and a whole host of other interior and shopfitting applications. EGGER Laminate matches the EURODEKOR® range and edging programme.

ABS Edging

EGGER Security Edging is a thermoplastic ABS product which offers a sleek yet robust decorative finish to many applications requiring moderate to high protection. EGGER ABS Edging matches the EGGER Laminate and EURODEKOR® ranges and is available in a variety of thicknesses and widths.

Because Kronospan, Chirk is the UK’s only fully integrated wood based panel manufacturer, it means that every aspectof the process to make Kronosurface products is controlledin-house. From our own forestry, sawmilling, state of theart cleaning facility, through to our own resin production.Substrate, MDF and Chipboard, manufacturing, décor paper impregnation and extensive pressing department make the décor an integral part of the substrate. This means that not only can we control costs, and continuity but most importantly quality, the perfect mix.

Our innovative range classifi cation – Fresh, Face, Feel, Find and Fast. An entirely new product arrangement, which makes the process of selecting decors, textures and matching complementary products perfectly simple:

FACE:

The Kronospan melamine range offers a multitude of inspiring contemporary and traditional decors, which can be used in many applications including furniture, shopfi tting, kitchens, bedrooms, hotels, caravans and so many more, the only restraint is your imagination! Each design is refi ned, then we collaborate, where required with affi liate partners to ensure the perfect matches are available in laminate, edging tapes, foil and membrane pressing vinyl so that the total package always delivers the most stunning interiors. All Kronosurface melamine decors are available with a chipboard or MDF substrate, in various size and thickness confi gurations.

RANGE:A large range of sizes are available: lenght from 2440 to 5700 mm; width of 1220, 1830, 2050, 2100 mm; thickness from 3 mm to 40 mm, according to the base board. More than 16 different texture fi nishes available.

ACCESORIES:Finsadecor provides different complementary products as backs, edging and offer equivalencies with other products available in the market as laminate or PVC sheets.

DESIGN:Our range of designs includes more than 600 colours which goes from classic designs to the latest trends.

SUPERPAN® Decor

Exclusive to Finsa, this product consists of two external MDF faces and a core of chipboard. Coated with decorative paper impregnated in melamine resins.

Fibraplast® Lac

This is an MDF board coated with melamine on one face. Specially created for lacquer or PVC applications, or for the machining of the bare face.

CharacteristicsIt shows low and homogeneous absorption in its core and surface. Perfect fi nish of completed pieces.

ApplicationsRecommended for the manufacture of doors, kitchen fronts, bathroom furniture or drawer fronts.


Fibraplast®

This is an MDF board coated with decorative paper impregnated in melamine resins.

CharacteristicsIt is a suitable product for the furniture industry as well as for decoration and interior design. The combination of designs and fi nishes not only allows the reproduction of natural wood veneers but also of other materials, such as fabrics, furs, stones, etc. It leaves the fi eld open for creativity and fantasy.


Compacmel®

This is a compact board made of selected wood fi bres(MDF) and coated with decorative paper impregnated in melamine resins.

CharacteristicsIts baseboard offers a good behaviour in indoor uses where there are high and persistent moisture levels throughout time.

ApplicationsManufacture of sports furniture, lockers, benches, WC divisions or wall hanging toilets (with no contact with the fl oor), doors, wall panellings, labs, hotels, offi ce equipment.

RAUKANTEX color – show your true colours

RAUKANTEX color presents itself with an almost unlimited colour spectrum. All colour tones incl. the RAL scale and also different gloss levels: matt to high gloss, lacquered with UV lacquers, are available.

The right appearance is given to the edgeband though a choice of lacquer effects and / or embossing.

Mirror-gloss effect for example is created by applying a high-gloss lacquer to our ABS and PVC edgebands.

Materials Overview:

RAUKANTEX in PVC

PVC is more versatile than any other material and has formed the basis for edgeband for decades: RAUKANTEX in PVC has universal material properties, which makes this material the most used edgeband material worldwide.

PVC is easy to process, self-extinguishing, light fast to at least level 7, has good chemical resistance, can be recycled and, if burned correctly, incinerated. Furthermore, PVC with its low primary energy consumption during manufacture and low eco and human toxicity in water, marks it as one of the materials with a good eco-balance.

RAUKANTEX in ABS

ABS is another member of the thermoplastic materials family for edgeband. This impact, light and heat resistant material can be recycled or incinerated. ABS is also chlorine-free. ABS is as easy to process as PVC and can be processed on all usual edgebanders.
