PROJECT DETAILS: Historic Rymill house in Adelaide sits on an underused site. The project goal was to develop a masterplan for a new caretaker's residence, office building and visitor amenity centre. In parallel to this a preliminary set of documentation drawings was produced for the Visitor amenity centre, which would include a restaurant, ballroom, gallery and two

merchant facilities.

The response to the site was to allow the original building precedence and encourage the growth of a native flora nursery in and around the building for sale to visitors, with integration into the existing fenceline on the southwest corner, which would allow for ballroom guests to

view the Clipsal 500 which takes place there.

LOCATION: Scotch College Kyre Campus, Kangaroo Island SA

PROJECT DETAILS: Project was a development of a masterplan chosen from among the year group, a learning centre and dormitories for Scotch College Students on Kangaroo Island.

Response to the brief was to keep the building as open as possible to allow connection between environment and shelter, to heighten learning outcomes from site rather than traditional classroom.

PROJECT DETAILS: CLADDING AND REFIT OF GARAGE TO CREATE OUTDOOR ENTERTAINING ROOM COME CARPORT, DRAWINGS FOR BUILDING APPROVAL. TASKS INVOLVED CHECKING TIMBER FRAMING CODE, RESEARCHING AND SELECTING HARDWARE FOR GARAGE DOOR AND BIFOLD PANELS, AND DRAFTING OF APPROPRIATE DRAWINGS.

PROJECT DETAILS: EXTENSION TO RESIDENCE. CLIENT CAME WITH BASIC FLOOR PLAN WHICH REQUIRED REFINEMENT. SUBMITTED SKETCH DESIGN FOR CLIENT APPROVAL IN FEBRUARY AND WAS APPROVED, AND COMPLETED THE MAJORITY OF DOCUMENTATION IN JUNE/JULY. EXTENSION CONSISTS OF LIVING ROOM, NEW ENSUITE AND WALK IN ROBE AND MASTER BEDROOM, AS WELL AS EXTENSIVE REFITS AND REFINISHINGS TO REST OF HOUSE.

PROJECT DETAILS: EXTRAPOLATION OF ELEMENTS INTO VARIOUS FORMS. BEGIN WITH A PHOTOGRAPH AND ABSTRACT IT FIRST INTO A LINE DRAWING, THEN PROJECT THAT UPWARD INTO THE THIRD DIMENSION, AND FINALLY CREATE A MODEL WHICH EXPLORES ABSTRACT SPACES AND EXPERIENCES. PROJECT DETAILS: CREATE A SHADING DEVICE FOR A CURTAIN WALL WHICH WILL AUTOMATICALLY ADJUST THE SIZE OF THE SHADING DEPENDING ON ITS ORIENTATION. SOLUTION DETECTS THE PANEL'S ANGLE TO THE CARDINAL POINTS AND APPLIES A SIMPLE TRIGONOMETRIC EQUATION TO THE COORDINATES OF THE OPAQUE PANEL. PANEL WAS MODELED IN REVIT USING THE INBUILT PARAMETRIC FUNCTIONALITY AND APPLIED TO A MASS SURFACE. REVIT PANEL ALSO ENSURES THAT ALL PANEL SURFACES ARE DEVELOPABLE.
