The C. E. S. SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM is a NAEYC accredited, comprehensive, high
quality early childhood program for three and four-year-olds who reside in Bridgeport,
Connecticut. Students are required to attend the program for a minimum of six hours per

effective transportation to students in Fairfi eld and New Haven Counties.
A fl eet of passenger and wheelchair lift-equipped vans allow fl exibility to use
the appropriate vehicles fi tting the needs of students being
transported.
Each year, C.E.S. vehicles travel more than 650,000 miles to provide transportation to and from school
on a daily basis, as well as fi eld trips and other school activities.

from teachers to superintendents.
THE LEADERSHIP INSITUTE AT C.E.S. offers the following programs and trainings for educators:
Administrator Aspirant Program, Academy for TeacherLeadership, New Administrator Induction Program,
Supervision Workshops for Administrators, Board Forums, Councils, and the Distinguished Lecture Series.
The Institute also invites national presenters on a regular basis.
092 INTERMEDIATE ADMINISTRATOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAMThrough collaboration with Southern Connecticut State
University, Fairfi eld County teachers can complete the 092 Certifi cation program by meeting once a week over the
course of two years, on SCSU’s campus, and at a designated Fairfi eld County location.
093 SUPERINTENDENT CERTIFICATION PROGRAMThrough collaboration with Southern Connecticut StateUniversity, Fairfi eld County administrators can complete
the 093 Superintendent Certifi cation program by meeting once a week over the course of two years, on SCSU’s
campus, and at a designated Fairfi eld County location.
CULTIVATING EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIPThis annual leadership training program provides qualifi ed educational leaders with the opportunity to explore and
consider becoming a superintendent. The program includes an optional shadowing and/or mentoring opportunity.
E X E C U T I V E S E A R C H S E RV I C E SSelecting a new superintendent is one of the most important responsibilities a Board of Education undertakes. C.E.S. offers a comprehensive approach to the executive search process for Connecticut’s Boards of Education. The executive search team, made up of education professionals with more than 40
years of combined superintendent experience, combines focus group and online survey responses in the research
phase to defi ne attributes of a successful superintendent. The team reaches out to their extensive network of educators to announce the vacancy, as well as recruit professional and
qualifi ed candidates. The team provides interview coaching and support to the Board during the selection process, and continues to provide additional support through transition of
new leadership in the district. All C.E.S. searches areconfi dential and ethical. Recent clients include Avon, Fishers Island, Killingly, LEARN, Madison, Middletown,
Newington, North Haven, Plainfi eld, Region 18 (Lyme-Old Lyme), Salem, Suffi eld,
Waterbury, and Weston public school districts.

R e g i o n a l A s s i s t i v e Te c h n o l o g y C e n t e r The REGIONAL ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY CENTER
provides assistive technology services for special needs students, and makes available evaluation,
consultation and technical assistance services to assist school districts in determining the technology
needs of disabled students on an individual basis.
A u d i o l o g i c a l S e r v i c e s C.E.S. AUDIOLOGICAL SERVICES provide audiological
evaluations for students in preschool through highschool. Monthly audiological consultations for hearing impaired students including tympanometry, hearing
aid and FM checks are also available. Staff also conduct central auditory processing evaluations
for children eight years of age and older.

offer schools and districts assessment, consultation and training services in applied behavioral analysis.

T h e r a p e u t i c D ay P r o g r a mThe C.E.S. THERAPEUTIC DAY PROGRAM (TDP) is a regional
special education program for students in grades K-12 who present with a variety of signifi cant behavioral and emotional disabilities. TDP offers a comprehensive
treatment approach that includes educational, psychological, psychiatric, and parent counseling/support
services aimed at improving the student’s overall functioning. TDP uses a highly structured learning
environment, low student-to-staff ratios and intensive school-based therapeutic services to effectively build and develop each student’s academic, behavioral,
emotional and social functioning.
B e g i n n i n g sBEGINNINGS is a Birth to Three program that provides early
intervention services to families with infants and toddlers with disabilities. Multidisciplinary staff travel to a family’s
home, childcare program and/or other community-based activity to provide developmental learning services.
D e v e l o p m e n t a l L e a r n i n g C e n t e rThe C.E.S. DEVELOPMENTAL LEARNING CENTER (DLC) is an
intensive special education program for students ages 12-21 with signifi cant developmental disabilities such as
autism, neurological impairments, pervasive developmental disorders, and intellectual disorders with and without challenging behaviors. DLC offers
a middle school component, and a secondary transition education program (S.T.E.P.). Both programs focus onapplied academics, development of functional skills,
communication and social skill development, pre-vocational and vocational training, and
development of recreational and leisure skills.
P r e s c h o o l - P r i m a r y L e a r n i n g C e n t e rThe C.E.S. PRESCHOOL-PRIMARY LEARNING CENTER (PLC) is
an alternative program for students ages 3-12 who fall within the Autism Spectrum Disorder continuum. PLC uses a low student-to-staff ratio program design, positive behavioral supports, functional communication training,
transactional supports inclusive of the use of visual supports, sensory diets, academic and functional
academic instruction and highly trained lead-support instructional teams.
R I S E T r a n s i t i o n P r o g r a mThe RISE TRANSITION PROGRAM is a regional special
education program for students with limited cognitive functioning ages 18-21 held on the campus of Sacred Heart University. The program provides students with
opportunities to develop vocational, social and personal management skills through a variety of campus and
community-based transition activities including activities with university students of a similar age.
