Member Forecasts August 2015 Saturday, August 1, 2015 Sign: Aquarius Nakshatra: Dhanishtha Tithi: Dvitiya Day: Saturn It is August 1 st and it is Saturday which is ruled by Saturn. Saturn will bring a quality of service, humility, concentration and determination into the day. It is actually good for social or public service and things that have to do with the public because the Moon is in Aquarius which is also ruled by Saturn. It is the quality of Saturn which makes a commitment to things of social value. This nature of Saturn will be quite prominent today. Aquarius is an air sign which is related to social ideas, gatherings and commitments like your neighborhood or church. Your spiritual or social group will be important. The Nakshatra is Dhanishtha which is ruled by the 8 Vasus. They include the 5 elements and also the 3 realms of cosmic invention. It is a very creative Nakshatra. The word Dhan means “wealth” so it is about wealth but also wealth and values that comes in many forms not just in the form of money. We also have the Moon opposite Jupiter and Venus today. Venus is now moving retrograde and it is very close to Jupiter. There is quite a feeling of hope and optimism, even perhaps with relationship partner or other people, with the Moon opposite Jupiter and Venus because the opposition brings a feeling of being related to others. Mars is also aspecting from his 8 th house position which can bring some intensity, passion and fieriness into that.

Saturday, August 1, 2015 Sign: Aquarius Nakshatra: Dhanishtha Tithi: Dvitiya Day: Saturn It is August 1st and it is Saturday which is ruled by Saturn. Mars is also aspecting from his 8th house position which can bring some intensity, passion and fieriness into that.

It is the 2nd lunar called Dvitiya which is ruled by Lord Vishnu and it is also about manifesting and about solid foundational principles that we can build upon. Those are the important factors today.

Sunday, August 2, 2015 Sign: Aquarius Nakshatra: Satabhisha Tithi: Tritiya Day: Sun The Moon continues through Aquarius and it is in Satabhisha Nakshatra which literally means “a hundred doctors or physicians” or “a hundred medicines”. It is Sunday which is ruled by the Sun bringing a quality of leadership and consistent vision that we do not give up on because of all the good that can come from us. That is the nature of the Sun. This is good to look forward in your life and sort of plan the week and where you are going. Sunday is good for that. Satabhisha Nakshatra means “a hundred doctors” and it shows where we may have something even like a health issue or some problem where we need to find a solution that is not so obvious. The nature of this Nakshatra is where we seek alternative actions to our problems and think outside the box. It is that quality of Aquarius that is revolutionary and unusual in its viewpoint. You may find some unusual solutions to your problems today particularly as it may relate to healing including spiritual healing, meditation and spiritual practices. Any kind of spiritual practices have a lot to do with this sort of energy. It is the 3rd lunar day called Tritiya which is related to finding new ways of doing things and actually making adjustments to the cycle that we are in and to what we are trying to change in our life. There are similar aspects with yesterday but the Jupiter, Venus and Mars aspects are now separating and not as prominent as they were on Saturday, August 1st. On August 2nd, we may still feel that good feeling that is related to others but it is maybe waning a little bit, not as enthusiastic.

Monday, August 3, 2015 Sign: Aquarius Nakshatra: Purvabhadrapada Tithi: Chaturthi Day: Moon On Monday, August 3rd, the Moon is in Aquarius for half of the time then it goes into Pisces in the middle of the day. The middle of the day, we will feel that shift into a more metaphysical, emotional and creative stance assumed by Pisces. It is the Nakshatra of Purvabhadrapada. Purvabhadrapada is related to lightning that comes down from heaven and inspires us. This is the transition from Aquarius into Pisces where Aquarius is about the universalizing of our individuality. It is still related to the individual amongst the society where we learn to give up our feeling of personal identity and ego which can by the way be very egoistic its own way. Pisces is where we are letting go of that so this Nakshatra of Purvabhadrapada where the lightning comes down from the heaven and strikes us as an individual is a very significant metaphor for today, August 3rd. It is that part of Pisces that is becoming even beyond an individual but surrendering to that cosmic flow relaxing into the cosmic waters. It is Monday which is ruled by the Moon and it is also quite emotional and heart-centric. It has to do with our family and all of our connections to others. This relationship of the Moon in Pisces for the next couple of days will be important. It is more metaphysical creative stance where we are looking to dissolve all of our individuality completely not just align it with others. The Moon is close to Ketu today and Ketu is where we focus our energy and attention — kind of like a laser on something and drill down into it. When the Moon is joined Ketu, there will be a certain amount of emotional explosiveness and criticism of others and of our self if we are not careful. It is the 4th lunar day called Chaturthi which is ruled by Lord Ganesha or Lord Yama who is the god of death and also the god of restraint. Death is a restraint and a boundary that we need to honor. These restraints and obstacles may be important today. That usually do not feel so good because we want to just keep expanding and growing but obstacles and restraints

keep us honest because they show our limitations and the limitations will need to address. Those are the important factors of August 3rd with the Moon in Pisces on Monday in Purvabhadrapada. The deity of Purvabhadrapada is Aja Ekapada which means “one-footed goat” and it has to do with one foot like lightning strikes in one spot.

Tuesday, August 4, 2015 Sign: Pisces Nakshatra: Uttarabadrapada Tithi: Panchami Day: Mars It is Tuesday ruled by Mars and the Nakshatra is Uttarabadrapada. It is still Pisces so the metaphysical awareness is important. We get that glimpse of our divinity in Purvabhadrapada with that lightning that strikes and shocks us into the reality that we are not just of this Earth. Uttarabadrapada is ruled by Ahi Bhudnya which is the serpent of the deep that goes into our mind, psyche and karma so that rather than it just be a glimpse, we make a commitment to the truth of what we are looking for and why we are not feeling metaphysically whole. It is Tuesday which is ruled by Mars which gives courage in that exploration, so you have the courage to explore that with a lot of depth but that maybe also a bit combative. Mars is now debilitated in Cancer so we may be lacking some discipline. It is the 5th lunar day called Panchami and it is related to the Moon, the creative benefit and things that nurture us. It is also good for healing and taking medicine and those kinds of things. The Moon is separating from the aspect with Ketu, the South Node, but there is still a feeling of spiritual perfection because Ketu is in Pisces and that spiritual perfection really feeling the need for that. It has been something quite important for the last year or so since Ketu moved into Pisces and Rahu moved into.

Wednesday, August 5, 2015 Sign: Pisces Nakshatra: Ashwini Tithi: Shashti Day: Mercury On August 5th, the Moon is in Pisces for much of the day and then it goes into Aries midday. The first part of the day it is in Revati Nakshatra ruled by the god called Pushan who is the shepherd of the gods. Pushan is related to completing our karma and our long weary journey around the zodiac. On the second part of Tuesday the 4th and into Wednesday the 5th, you will feel that sense of completion. So on Tuesday night and into Wednesday, it is good for surrender and letting go. Then by the middle of the day on Wednesday on East coast and early on the day on the West Coast, the Moon is pretty much in Aries. Aries is ruled by Mars and that brings excitement, passion, enthusiasm and maybe even a bit of a sort of combativeness which you need to be careful of for the next couple of days particularly that Mars the ruler is now debilitated. When the ruler is debilitated (especially Mars), we can be irritated and cranky because we are lacking discipline and not focused and acting with courage and strength. This perhaps is a theme for the next couple of days that we need to watch for. Today though is Mercury-ruled Wednesday which brings more lightness, discrimination, intelligence and flexibility into the mix. It is good to explore your ideas and new ways of doing things. It is good for study and figuring things out. The Moon is in Ashwini Nakshatra and Ashwini is ruled by the Ashwin Kumars, the twin horses so it shows a lot of force, energy and power focused in one direction, but it can also be scattered in many directions. It is that first part of Aries that is just all over the place with just a lot of enthusiasm but not focused. It also has to do with hidden energy and vitality in the mind so it is good for yoga. You need to harness two horses together to get them to run in the same direction. So that is a big lesson today. It is also the 6th lunar day called Shashti which is also related to Mars and this quality of Mars will be reinforced but it really takes a form of

enthusiasm, celebrating our victories and taking on battles. Those will be important factors today. There is also an aspect from Jupiter which can be helpful. Jupiter is in Leo now aspecting Aries. It can tend to bring more inspiration and wisdom into our impulsiveness.

Thursday, August 6, 2015 Sign: Aries Nakshatra: Bharani Tithi: Ashtami Day: Jupiter On Thursday, August 6, the Moon continues through Aries retaining that enthusiastic, if at times, reckless style and this leads to the consequences that come from the previous Nakshatra. For instance, the Nakshatra of Bharani comes after the Nakshatra of Ashwini. Bharani is where we see the consequences of not focusing our energy very well. The consequences of not focusing our energy very well lead to the potential difficult consequence of Bharani. This is ruled by the god Yama which is about consequences so it is important to notice how things feel heavy, severe and the need to maybe want to punish others rather than be focused on your own consequences and learning from your own mistakes. Yama is the god of severity and punishment but it comes after we make our own mistakes. This can happen with any contacts with Aries so this can be a cruel Nakshatra today. You might see something’s in the news today as well about punishment and things like that. We had the crossover between the 7th and the 8th lunar day. So the first half of the day yesterday was the 7th lunar day which shows mobility. It is ruled by Lord Indra so there is a lot for independence. Today it is the 8th lunar day which is related to the 8 Vasus, the creative forces. It is a very creative day and good for earning potential especially in the mind. The aspect from Jupiter is there but it is waning but it is also Thursday which is ruled by Jupiter. It is good for hope, inspiration and gaining wisdom from the information we got rather than gathering a lot of information.

Friday, August 7, 2015 Sign: Aries Nakshatra: Krittika Tithi: Navami Day: Venus The Moon is at the end of Aries, it is about to go Taurus and it is Friday which is ruled by Venus. We will feel this connection to beauty, relationship and romance. These will be important themes here on Friday, August 7th. The Moon will be in Taurus for the next couple of days. Taurus is ruled by Venus and it is a fixed earth sign and it is about those solid, foundational structures in our life that really revolves around other people and also enjoying life with them. It is also about enjoying things like food and the pleasures of life. These are important things to look at for the next couple of days on the 7th, 8th and 9th as the Moon will be in Taurus for much of the time finishing the transit through Aries. It is Venus-ruled Friday so those themes of Venus like relationship with others, beauty and creativity will be important. It is Krittika Nakshatra and this is where the world is exalted. It is exalted in Krittika which is ruled by the god Agni, the god of fire. The fire illuminates, shows the truth and also warms things. It warms our food and purifies in the process and it also purifies our mind and attachments which is why the Moon is exalted in Krittika Nakshatra. It is the 9th lunar day called Navami which is ruled by the god called Sarpa which means “serpent” so there is the serpent energy that you may notice today as well. The serpent energy has to do with the kind of poisonous quality in the mind that needs to be transformed into something that leads to our emotional strength. Also later in the day, there is going to be an aspect from Saturn onto the Moon so we will feel that heaviness and intensity in the mind and maybe a desire to be alone and go inward which could be a nice counter balance to the day will also be important.

Saturday, August 8, 2015 Sign: Tuarus Nakshatra: Rohini Tithi: Dasami Day: Saturn Here on Saturday, August 8th, the Moon is opposite Saturn and the Moon is now fully in the sign of Taurus for the entire day in the Nakshatra of Rohini. Rohini means “growth” or “growing”. It is very much about creativity and creative growth. Saturday ruled by Saturn brings an awareness of the need to make a commitment to things, be humbled and reserved. It can also feel like the lack of confidence at times or heaviness or problem. The good part is it also refers to letting go of things of the world and turning inward and being introspective. This is powerful in the sign of Taurus as well because Taurus is very much about simplicity. If we can be content with what we have, Taurus is really the sign of peace. We have to be careful of the excess of materialism and trying to keep growing and exploring mindlessly. That is an important feature of today and tomorrow as well that you need to be aware of. It is the 10th lunar day called Dasami. Dasami ruled by the god Dharma which is the god of truth and that intelligence that comes from living in accordance with our true nature. It is an important thing on Saturday for you to maintain that connection to truth and righteousness that comes as a result. Those will be important themes on Saturday ruled by Saturn and that sign of Taurus which is earthy, solid structures in your life, on the 10th lunar day, which has to do with truth and righteousness.

Sunday, August 9, 2015 Sign: Taurus Nakshatra: Mrigasira Tithi: Ekadasi Day: Sun On Sunday, August 9th, the Moon continues through Taurus and it is in Mrigasira Nakshatra. It is ruled by the god called Soma who is the god of the immortal nectar and it is about the pursuit of beauty, virtue and that immortal nectar. That is what the Soma is. It is in between Taurus and Gemini so it is where we go from that solid animal of the cow into the running and restless quality of Gemini. The Nakshatra of Mrigasira which means “deer head” is the perfect symbol for a cow and a restless mind. The restless mind is also curious and playful and we will experience that later on Saturday and into Sunday. Sunday is ruled by the Sun which gives vision, clarity, propose and wanting to see into the future and act in accordance with our consistent vision. With the Moon in Taurus, it is very much about a vision which includes peace and contentment. The Moon is exalted here because the mind can rest on the fixed water of Taurus. It is the 11th lunar day called Ekadasi which refers to being able to sacrifice for our spiritual values and those things that we hold dear. Like for instance, fasting could be indicated today and when we fast, we willingly give up some of our personal pleasure for something higher and spiritual and that is what we can experience sometimes on the Ekadasi. It is a good day for fasting. There is also this quality of Taurus. It is the end of Taurus transit where the Moon is moving from that fixed earth into that sort of skittish nature of Gemini. Mrigasira, the deer is that symbol and it is also called that wandering star because it is like a deer looking for beauty, food and to enjoy life. That is important today.

Monday, August 10, 2015 Sign: Gemini Nakshatra: Ardra Tithi: Dvadasi Day: Moon On Monday the Moon is in Gemini and it is in Ardra Nakshatra. Ardra is ruled by Lord Shiva or Lord Rudra and it is that flood of transformation and destruction. It is often destructive because it is transforming things and often when we have to transform something, we have to destroy what was there before in order for the new thing to take place. This Moon in Ardra today will have that potential quality of destruction. We have to be aware of that possibility as well. But it is also just transformation and it is that part of Gemini which changes things very quickly and sometimes just blow up the existing paradigm. Again, the Moon is in Gemini and this is the quality of Gemini which is very dual. It is about the beauty and the ugliness and seeing things truthfully and the willingness not only to explore and curious like that deer searching for answers but then once we find an answer, blowing up what was there before because the truth must prevail. Gemini has that quality of duality. It is Monday which is ruled by the Moon so it is an emotional day where we are very aware of our emotional state and the need to be connected to the heart which includes other people and things like that. We may also feel a bit of suffering in the heart if we are not careful but it could be kind of emotional day. For the next couple of days with the Moon in Gemini, it is good for communication, speech and putting feelings into words, those kinds of things but also mistaking the words to be the feeling. That is the thing that we always watch. The 12th lunar day is called Dvadasi and that is related to the Sun and that consistent power that leads us through life. Those are the important features of August the 10th.

Tuesday, August 11, 2015 Sign: Gemini Nakshatra: Punarvasu Tithi: Trayodasi Day: Mars On August 11th, the Moon is still in Gemini. It continues that theme of communication, speech, gathering information and curiosity. It is Tuesday which is ruled by Mars so there is an excitement or passion about these things or maybe a desire to act with will and impulse. The Nakshatra is Punarvasu and this is the part of Gemini that is about the inspiration. We are inspired by the things we learn, it makes us excited and may give us hope. Those things need to be brought into the heart and this is where Gemini becomes Cancer, where those things that we enjoy and the information that we gather needs to be brought to the heart. The symbol of Punarvasu is the arrow pointing up and it is ruled by the goddess Aditi who is the mother of the Adityas so it is like an Earth-mother, like a divine mother energy that we will experience this day. It is the 13th lunar day called Trayodasi which is related to the god Kama Deva who is related to cupid, the quality of cupid which has to do with romance, passion and fulfilling desires. These are the important themes today on Tuesday, August 11th.

Wednesday, August 12, 2015 Sign: Cancer Nakshatra: Pushya Tithi: Chaturdasi Day: Mercury On August 12th, we have the Moon in Cancer now in its own sign joined Mars and the Sun. It is close to the New Moon, the 14th lunar day called Trayodasi, where the Moon is dark. It is also called Shivaratri, the night of Shiva so it is a night to stay up all night and honor Lord Shiva if you are so disposed. The Moon will be in Cancer for the next couple of days. Cancer is ruled by the Moon which brings a lot of sentimentality, emotion, creativity, intuition and wanting to dissolve boundaries and merge through the heart. It is Wednesday ruled by Mercury which has a curious playful nature about communication, creativity and things like that. This first full Nakshatra in Cancer is called Pushya and Pushya is literally related to the teats of the cow where we feed or nurture others. It is that part of Cancer which is about nurturing, feeding and sustenance like a mother’s milk. The deity is Brihaspati who is the priest of the gods. A formal, conservative kind of energy is seen in this Nakshatra and it is placed into that quality of Cancer which is also formal, conservative, proper and things that are also related to the Sattvic Guna. It is not about letting it all hang out, being revolutionary and crusading, it is about the things that are spiritually traditional like our family, the heart and going deeper than just the emotions. There could be a lot of emotional turbulence though for the next couple of days in particular because the Moon is very close to Mars. Mars is also debilitated and the Sun is also there. There are a lot of fiery emotions right now especially since Mars came in to Cancer. There can be quite of volatility if we are not careful eventhough the aggressiveness of Mars becomes more subdued over all when it comes into Cancer on an individual level with the things that we are doing in our life especially today and tomorrow.

The 14th lunar day is Chaturdasi and Lord Shiva’s is important and it is about cutting away the attachments in the mind. It does not happen very easily because we have a lot of attachments so the way this often translates especially in an emotional sign like Cancer is we may have a lot of emotional longing and desire for attachment but here the Moon is very dark or we do not feel the mind very strong and it is joined Mars which is not about creating comfort. It is about distinction, delineation and cutting things off. Those are important factors today with the Moon in Cancer on Wednesday, Pushya Nakshatra on the 14th lunar day.

Thursday, August 13, 2015 Sign: Cancer Nakshatra: Pushya Tithi: New Moon Amavasya Day: Jupiter We have the New Moon in Cancer and it is Jupiter-ruled Thursday so Thursday has that quality of Jupiter which is about higher principles and philosophy that sustain us in the form of religion, teachers and gurus and things like that. It is a good day to be inspired and hopeful in that regard. The Moon is still at the end of Pushya Nakshatra for the earlier part of the day and then goes into Aslesha for the middle part of the day and through the most part of tomorrow. There is still a strong Pushya energy which is about Brihaspati and the traditional themes. But then around the middle of the day it goes into Aslesha which is called the “entwiner” and it is where we get tangled up in our emotional desires and dramas. It could be a difficult day with this new Moon in Aslesha Nakshatra and we need to be careful about not getting so tangled up in our desires and the things that we want that do not work out for us. The Moon is also the time when the mind is feeling very dark and our emotional state is feeling quite dark. So we need to be aware of that. Retrograde Venus is also just gone into Cancer and it is getting close to the Moon but we will feel that close tomorrow on Friday the 14th. But for the most part, it could be another very emotional day with the New Moon and Cancer joined Mars in Aslesha which is about getting tangled up and the need to untangle those things will be important. It is great for meditation and deeper spiritual practices as well but again it can often come out an expense as we see here on Venus-ruled Friday.

Friday, August 14, 2015 Sign: Cancer Nakshatra: Aslesha Tithi: Pratipada Day: Venus The Moon is still in Aslesha for most of the day and it is also very close to Venus. This could also be quite a tricky day with this Moon/Venus conjunction and the Moon in Aslesha which really is a sign where it shows our desires. When we get tangled up in our personal desires rather than in truth and Dharma, there is a sort of scary entanglement. Cancer is a sign that has to do with motherhood and virtues love. When we get tangled up in that, it is appropriate. Selfless love is the domain of Cancer. Desire-filled, transactional, conditional love is hard because it is never going to connect us to the heart, to the true source. It generates a lot of emotion. This could be a big theme today on Venus-ruled Friday with the Moon joined retrograde Venus very closely. Is it the 1st lunar day called Pratipada which is the beginning of new cycle. Today we are going to try to learn the higher qualities of that Cancerian energy of that connection to the heart. It could be very important to really feel our relationship to the depth of our heart and mind rather than the emotions that knock us off course.

Saturday, August 15, 2015 Sign: Leo Nakshatra: Magha Tithi: Pratipada Day: Saturn On August 15th, the Moon is in Leo now and it is Saturday which is ruled by Saturn bringing a feeling of commitment, effort, insecurity, pressure and the feeling that maybe we need to work hard or that we have this struggle against something. It is good to do something useful today and then rest and enjoy your accomplishment. For the next couple of days, the Moon will be in Leo which is ruled by the Sun which brings a fiery, passionate quality. The Sun is where we have vision. Wherever Leo falls on your chart — whatever house it shows where you take a lot of initiative, where you feel very inspired — Moon will step into this inspired place today and for the next couple of days. You see the Moon is close to Jupiter and also Mercury. It is very good for expanded ideas, teaching, language and communication, but there can also be some confusion between these two a little bit where we can conflate our words, exaggerate, distort things and make them bigger than they are. But the next couple of days though, there should be a lot of vision and power. The Moon goes through Leo and you would at least feel a lot of enthusiasm and want to express it. The Nakshatra is called Magha which is ruled by the Pitris, the divine ancestors. This Nakshatra of Magha has a lot to do with that seat of power in Leo. It is where the king is on the throne. The royal throne is literally the symbol of Magha. These Pitris or divine ancestors have to do with your spiritual lineage or family. Honoring, tradition, teachings and even your family in this lifetime, these things are important today. It is the 1st lunar day called Pratipada. It is also Pratipada yesterday. These lunar days are sort of stacking up about halfway through. So it is the 2nd lunar day later in the day but we will just maintain that it is still going to mainly have that feeling of initiation on the 1st lunar day today which has to do with the creator Lord Brahma and starting a new cycle. There will be a feeling of beginnings and starting something new today probably even more so than yesterday as we just got the beginning of the New Moon yesterday.

Sunday, August 16, 2015 Sign: Leo Nakshatra: Purvaphalguni Tithi: Dvitiya Day: Sun Inspiration, purpose, power these feeling of Leo will be felt on Sunday August 16 as it is also ruled by the Sun. The Sun is the ruler of Leo and of the day continuing that theme of hope. But when the Sun rules the day, it shows that vision that we want to focus into our life. It is Purvaphalguni Nakshatra which is the god Bagha, the god of delight. Purvaphalguni is where we really delight in being the king and wanting to enjoy life that can make us lazy. It can also make us generous, a combination of those things so it is fine to enjoy what you have earned and manifested but we have to share it rather than hoard it for ourself. This is the deeper lesson of Purvaphalguni so you want to make sure to share what delights you with others and that is what we try to do anyway the thing that delights us the most we love to share it. Share your self today. The Moon is very close to Mercury in particular but it is still joined Jupiter and Mercury. It is good for expanding ideas or writing. It is the 2nd lunar day called Dvitiya which is about establishing frameworks, foundations and things that feel structural so you may want to make things solid and predictable today. That may be an important goal in your mind.

Monday, August 17, 2015 Sign: Virgo Nakshatra: Uttaraphalguni Tithi: Tritiya Day: Moon August 17th is Monday which is related to the Moon which shows emotions, sentiment and feeling to be important. For the next couple of days, the Moon will be in Virgo which is ruled by Mercury. It is the feminine, reflective quality of Mercury where we organize internally all the important details of the world and try to manage and structure them internally. Whereas Leo is the sign of the king, Virgo is where all of those many tasks of the kingdom need to be delegated, organized and brought into existence. We do that through Virgo so we can feel a bit overwhelmed by details at times with Virgo energy. We might stress out about all the details and tasks that need to be done. The Moon is very close to Rahu also today in the sky so we can feel more of that imagined fear and pressure to get it right and make sure that all the details are lined up properly. The Nakshatra is called Uttaraphalguni which is ruled by the god Aryaman who is the god of contracts and official business, those official things that we need to do like when we make a contract for instance. So rather than enjoy and let it all hang out, which is the previous Nakshatra ruled by the god Bagha the god of delight, we need to make it official and formal. That is what Uttaraphalguni is about. It is often called the marriage star because it is where rather than just dating and enjoying, we actually get married. It is the 3rd lunar day called Tritiya which is related to Lord Vishnu and Vishnu is also an important deity in Mercury. The fact that the Moon is in Virgo ruled by Mercury and it is the 3rd lunar day related to Vishnu shows this quality of intelligence, flexibility and details further affirms that. One of the main things that you need to watch for in this relationship of Moon and Rahu is that it can definitely create an imagined fear, stress and worry over the details today.

Tuesday, August 18, 2015 Sign: Virgo Nakshatra: Hasta Tithi: Chaturthi Day: Mars On the 18th, August 18th, the Moon continues through Virgo and it is in Hasta Nakshatra. Hasta literally means “hand”. It is where we manifest that world that we are trying to create. We bring that thing that we want into our hand as we manifest that kingdom or the power from the kingdom filters down. Virgo is a great sign of that. Hasta is definitely the Nakshatra where we see that more than anything else. The Gayatri mantra is the mantra for Hasta and it is to the god called Savitur who is another incarnation of the Sun that brings sustenance. It is Tuesday ruled by Mars so there is an enthusiasm and a passion and maybe some impatience to watch for and some restlessness that you need to be aware of. It is the 4th lunar day called Chaturthi which has to do with Lord Ganesha and Lord Yama who is the god of consequences. Obstacles and consequences could be important on the 18th. This feeling of having to overcome obstacles in order to prevail but ultimately, prevailing and manifesting what you want. Also remember to offer up the fruits of your efforts to the divine because this is also the quality of Hasta where it is an open hand where there is not a lot attachment because hands can mean a lot of attachments as well.

Wednesday, August 19, 2015 Sign: Virgo Nakshatra: Chitra Tithi: Panchami Day: Mercury On August 19th, the Moon continues in Virgo and it is in Chitra Nakshatra. Chitra is ruled by Vishwa Karma, the celestial architect, and Vishwa Karma is the one who built the cosmos so there is attention to details and form shown here. The Moon is separating from Rahu now also not feeling it as much but it is getting in between Rahu and Saturn so we can feel that approaching pressure and stress perhaps today. It is Mercury-ruled Wednesday which is about intelligence, discrimination and of course, Mercury is the ruler of Virgo so it sort of affirms that quality of detail that we have been experiencing the last couple of days. It is the 5th lunar day called Panchami which is about creativity and also ruled by the Moon which brings about healing and connection and that relationship to the Earth and herbs and remedies and sort of care taking. That is an important thing to do today as well or the thing to keep in mind. It could be pretty dynamic and passionate day with the Moon in Chitra which is a fiery Nakshatra. It is related to tiger so it could be that sort of passion today.

Thursday, August 20, 2015 Sign: Libra Nakshatra: Svati Tithi: Shashthi Day: Jupiter On August 20th, the Moon goes to Libra and you will see it is hemmed between Rahu and Saturn so you will feel the pressure between Rahu and Saturn, maybe a bit surrounded in our relationship and connection to others. Libra is ruled by Venus which is the planet of relationship, relating, compromise and finding beauty in all things which includes thing that are of the human kingdom but we often learn to elevate our relationship with beauty and pleasure through others. That whole life lesson is ripe for the next couple of days. But we are feeling the pressure but perhaps even more specifically noticing where we fall short in how we express our self and we compromise. It would be good to recognize that part at least an not as a way to punish our self, but notice where our projections and disappointments mess up our relationships with others and with other equals and learn to do better. The consequences of our desires sort of corrupting our discrimination will be important the next couple of days as the Moon go through Libra. It is Svati Nakshatra today which is ruled by the God Vayu who is the god of the wind and he is related to the monkey god Hanuman as well so it is about service and power because Hanuman was the king of the army of the monkeys. We take the power of all these monkeys and it can be enormous. It is like the power of your mind, rather than being a monkey mind jumping all around, it is focused and concentrated on something important that leads to vitality and Prana. It is Thursday which is ruled by Jupiter so it gives higher wisdom, teachings and philosophy. The 6th lunar day is called Shashti and it is related to celebrations, victories and prevailing over our enemies. There is a lot of intense energy so be careful not to be combative with others and instead try to learn the deeper lesson of compromise.

Friday, August 21, 2015 Sign: Libra Nakshatra: Vishaka Tithi: Saptami Day: Venus On August 21st, the Moon is still in Libra and it is in the Nakshatra of Vishaka which is ruled by the gods Indra and Agni. This is a star of purpose, ambition, motivation and righteousness. Hence, those are prominent themes of August 21st. It is also Friday which is ruled by Venus and Venus is also the ruler of Libra so there is a lot of Venus energy today. The Moon is hemmed now, it is between Rahu and Saturn in the sky. The Moon being hemmed between Rahu and Saturn brings that environment of stress in our relations with others and Libra principle of compromise. We will feel quite a lot of that today with Venus ruling the day and Libra and that function of compromise and desire that is evoked through the sign of Libra. This Moon in Vishaka Nakshatra is ruled by Indra and Agni who are two big heroes in Rig Veda so there is this kind of heroic elevation of individual duty. There is like a sense of duty and purpose here but it can also be very ambitious and motivated and pushing our personal agenda a little too strong. There is an aspect from Mars as well from Cancer which brings some volatility and frustration. It is the 7th lunar day called Saptami which is ruled by the Lord Indra, who is also one of the rulers of Vishaka. Indra, the king of the gods, will bring a desire for power, individuality, strength and mobility. Those are important themes today.

Saturday, August 22, 2015 Sign: Scorpio Nakshatra: Anuradha Tithi: Saptami Day: Saturn On August 22nd, the Moon is in Scorpio and it is very close to Saturn. Saturn is now moving forward for the last couple of weeks. His influence on the Moon will be one of determination internally. Hopefully we will be determined to know out true self and calm our restless emotion but the way this often happens is Saturn brings this awareness of struggle, difficulty and mistakes so these maybe important things that we need to overcome today. The Moon is in Scorpio which is where the Moon is debilitated as well. It is debilitated in Scorpio because it shows the emotional volatility of Scorpio which is about wanting to strengthen our emotional weaknesses and turn them into strength. You need to be careful not to lash out at enemies or try to control situations because of your own fear of being out of control or vulnerable. This is what creates stress in Scorpio, we feel vulnerable then we try to control and manipulate situations to feel safe or to avoid pain. When we settle into our true self, however, Scorpio has enormous unshakeable faith, loyalty and devotion to the highest in life. Scorpio is a sign where we can really stick with difficulty rather than run from it. As long as we stay connected to the heart and to something devoted then it will be better. Anuradha is the Nakshatra and it is related to Lord Krishna and his devotee Radha who was his great friend. The qualities of friendship and friendliness are important. God as a great friend or a universal friend, not necessarily as the lover, is important. It is a beautiful energy when we consider God as a divine friend and with friends there is more detachment. Scorpios are great friends, they are very loyal. The Scorpio energy has that quality where they show up and hang in there and goes through difficulty with others. The problem is, when there is too much personal passion, there is too much of their own vulnerabilities. Embrace god as a divine friend and have some detachment from all of the drama today. It is the 8th lunar day called Ashtami which is ruled by the 8 Vasus, the creative powers in life from which we produce great results. So it could be

quite a creative time where you can be creative and create something out of nothing. It is Saturday which is ruled by Saturn and the Moon is so close to Saturn as well so we will feel a lot of those qualities of Saturn a lot more today on Saturday.

Sunday, August 23, 2015 Sign: Scorpio Nakshatra: Jyeshtha Tithi: Navami Day: Sun Here on the 23rd, the Nakshatras are changing in the middle of the day. It goes to Jyeshtha Nakshatra in the middle of the day in the 23rd and into the 24th. Jyeshtha Nakshatra is ruled by Lord Indra who is the king of the gods but he solely rules Jyeshtha and it is where that nature of Scorpio to be emotional hero coms from. There is a lot of emotional courage to face our battles today. From Sunday afternoon and then halfway through Monday, we will be feeling a lot of that sort of emotional courage and heroism so we need to pick our battles wisely especially midway through the day in Sunday and into Monday. Most of Monday, it will actually be more of Mula Nakshatra and the Moon in Sagittarius. We will be feeling a sort of half of Scorpio and half Sagittarius on Monday. Scorpio is where we feel that emotional vulnerability and that we are strengthening and Sagittarius is where that vulnerability leads to hope, higher philosophy, wisdom and searching for greater meaning. For the next couple of days, in the middle of Monday through the end of the day on Wednesday, we will be experiencing that desire for hope, meaning and purpose.

Monday, August 24, 2015 Sign: Sagittarius Nakshatra: Mula Tithi: Dasami Day: Moon Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, it is the masculine quality of Jupiter which is about seeking the good and finding something uplifting about the world and higher that just our emotional problems and battles with people. The first Nakshatra in Sagittarius, and it happens halfway through Monday, the 24th, is Mula. Mula is where we uproot a lot of that difficulty and stress from Scorpio and plant the seeds of truth. We look for some answer to explain why life is so hard and sometimes the answer is not very good. Sometimes it is something very difficult and damaging and some fanatical belief is also included in Sagittarius. Pulling things by the root and getting the root of issues is important. This can be difficult at times as well so we got to watch it on Monday, it is really kind of volatile especially that Monday is ruled by the Moon which is quite emotional. You need to be careful not to bring this emotional volatility or cyclone into the relations that you have with people. It is the 10th lunar day which is ruled by the god Dharma so it is good for truth and righteousness. It is about the higher purpose of life where we know the right thing we just do not know how to do it. Trying to do the right thing today is important.

Tuesday, August 25, 2015 Sign: Sagittarius Nakshatra: Purva Ashadha Tithi: Ekadasi Day: Mars The Moon is in Mula for half of the day on Monday, it goes to Purva Ashadha for the second half and then half way into Tuesday. This Nakshatra of Purva Ashadha is also in Sagittarius and it is that part of Sagittarius that is about hope, optimism, belief and higher purpose. This is really the devotional part of Sagittarius that is not so much about uprooting and facing problems but then once we uproot and we plant seeds of some sort of truth, then we are very devoted to those ideas. That is what Purva Ashadha is about. It is about being devoted to our beliefs so it could be quite devotional but also we could also be quite fanatical about it at times. The God is called Apas, the ocean, and it is related to water which is about love and devotion which can often lack discrimination so we need to bring discrimination to our belief systems rather than just believe in them blindly. This is an important quality of Tuesday, August 25th and it is ruled by Mars which brings courage, strength and the desire to destroy what is making us weak. That is the nature of Tuesday because that is the nature of Mars. There could be a kind of fighting energy carrying over from yesterday when the Moon was in Mula Nakshatra today. Fighting for what we believe in can be important. It is the 11th lunar day called Ekadasi which is ruled by Lord Rudra who is also related to Shiva and it is good for penance, sacrifice or Tapas. Sacrificing our comforts for something more virtuous or worthy is important on the 11th lunar day. Jupiter is aspecting from Leo which is bringing hope and optimism here on Tuesday the 25th.

Wednesday, August 26, 2015 Sign: Sagittarius Nakshatra: Uttara Ashadha Tithi: Dvadasi Day: Mercury The Moon on the 26th is in Uttara Ashadha for pretty much the whole day. Uttara Ashadha is also in Sagittarius and it means “later victory” and it is where those waters from the god Apas, from the previous Nakshatra of Purva Ashadha where we water those seeds of truth, grow into something and then we make a commitment and really produce a result. The Moon is there today. The gods are called the Vishwa Devas, the universal gods and they include things like time, effort, truth and desire. These are the things that bring about the actual results in our life. This is where Sagittarius becomes Capricorn. Uttara Ashadha is where our hopes become tangible commitments. This is the energy that bridges those two signs. It is Wednesday ruled by Mercury which is the great manager of life’s details or where we become overwhelmed by those details but it is good to organize and manage things which also include speaking to the right people, communicating, saying the right things, comprehending and seeing things clearly. It is very important on Mercury’s day. It also makes us curious and want to know more and adjust our thinking so that we are correct. Dvadasi is the lunar day which is the 12th lunar day. The 12th lunar day is ruled by the Sun so it gives vision, clarity, purpose and direction that we can take forward into the rest of the week. The 12th lunar day is very much about accomplishment, foundations, structures and vision. This is where you see later in the day, the Moon is going to go into Capricorn.

Thursday, August 27, 2015 Sign: Capricorn Nakshatra: Sravana Tithi: Trayodasi Day: Jupiter On the 27th, the Moon is in Capricorn in Sravana Nakshatra. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and this is Saturn expressing his earthy nature which is about structure and tangible form. It is about the internal quality of Saturn which is there to help us organize life and pay attention to the important details that can be dangerous if we are not careful. Saturn shows where we take things seriously, make a commitment to things and we also can be afraid of repeating mistakes that can be dangerous. Saturn is what protects us by avoiding danger and difficulty but we need to be careful that we are not just avoiding things that are unpleasant or do not feel good in the moment. It is supposed to avoid danger and not things that are just maybe difficult. When we are aligned with something we love, we do not avoid the hard work. Eventhough we do not like it, we do it anyway like a mother does not avoid changing diapers because she loves the child. That is not about whether or not she enjoys that particular work. Powerful Saturn gives us to do what we need to do whether we like it or not. We will be feeling that the next couple of days. The Nakshatra of Sravana is about silence, stillness and peace and it literally means “hearing”. Hearing is one of the sacred practices and once we hear the truth, being able to face it. A lot of those Saturn qualities take us very far when it comes to listening. Things like music, chanting, saying mantras or sacred sound over and over again are very important in the Nakshatra of Sravana. It is Thursday which is ruled by Jupiter and this brings a lot of hope, inspiration and purpose. It is a good day for study and inquiry. It is the 13th lunar day called Trayodasi which is ruled by Kama Deva bringing about the desire for romance, love, beauty and happiness. Kama deva is the God so it is a good for being with your partners and loved ones. On the 27th and 28th, Venus/Mars are joined in Cancer and it is creating a lot of conflict around personal relations. Venus and Mars have very

different agenda, so that would be opposite the Moon. The 27th and 28th of August could definitely be time for some stressful relations with others.

Friday, August 28, 2015 Sign: Capricorn Nakshatra: Dhanishta Tithi: Chaturdasi Day: Venus Here on the 28th, we have Venus-ruled Friday and Venus is joined Mars and it is also retrograde in Cancer so there is quite a bit of backwards relating right now. This can make for a Friday where our desires are kind of backwards or backing up on us. The Moon is continuing in Capricorn and it is in Dhanishta Nakshatra. Dhanishta is the part of Capricorn which is very much about manifestation and creating tangible stuff and so is Sravana. Sravana is very good for manifestation because we listen for what is happening and then we can adjust. Dhanishta, though, literally means “wealth” or “value”. It is ruled by the 8 Vasus who are the energies of manifesting. The 8 Vasus have to do with the 5 elements and then the 3 realms of creation. It is where we manifest in all levels, not just the earthly level, and so how we define value is very important in this Nakshatra. Today our personal values, spiritual values and material values will be important. The symbol is the drum of creation or Lord Shiva’s drum. It also has to do with manifesting, music and rhythm. It is the 14th lunar day called Chaturdasi which is right before this Full Moon. Chaturdasi is where the Moon is very bright and it is ruled by the goddess Kali and can show some harsh, cruel and cutting of things. We have a lot of attachments on the Full Moon and it is really where we need to cut some of our attachment. It is also the 14th lunar day of the waning Moon which is about cutting attachments but certainly, this can feel painful because cutting the part of ourself that does not feel whole can be painful today. Realizing where you are not whole, you are trying to feel whole with others. This has a lot to do with the 14th lunar day when the Moon is waxing. Those things are important today especially on Venus’ day. It could be a bit stressful.

Saturday, August 29, 2015 Sign: Nakshatra: Satabhisha Tithi: Full Moon Purnima Day: Saturn On Saturday, the 29th, the Moon is in Aquarius and Saturday and Aquarius are ruled by Saturn. Aquarius is the masculine and air quality of Saturn where we make a commitment to ideas that endure through lifetimes and cultures and that bring people together around universal principles. Those enduring value, structures and commitments will be important today. Satabhisha Nakshatra is the 1st full Nakshatra in Aquarius and it is related to the god called Varuna which is the god of the sky and seasons and it literally shows this kind of eccentric, genius that we can experience in Aquarius. Literally it means “a hundred doctors” and it shows where we have to look for a solution in a hundred different sources, like a hundred different medicines or doctors in Satabhisha. It is also the Full Moon so this Full Moon in Satabhisha shows where the next cycle as we are letting go of our inflated self in this Leo cycle. We can find a lot of different ways of doing it. This Full Moon is really about letting go and harmonizing our powerful self (Leo) with the universal self (Aquarius). That is an important lesson in this Full Moon. We also have this Jupiter aspect today which brings hope, inspiration and it also brings you in contact with teachers that inspire you and things like that. That will be important today.

Sunday, August 30, 2015 Sign: Aquarius Nakshatra: Purva Ashadha Tithi: Dvitiya Day: Sun On Sunday, August 30th, the Moon continues through Aquarius and it is in Purvabhadra Nakshatra. Purvabhadra is ruled by the god called Aja Ekapada, the one-footed goat which is related to lightning striking the Earth and inspiring us and motivating us towards something higher. This higher motivation and inspiration helps us transcend the Earthly realm but it still connects us to the Earth, culture and people. It is where we as an individual have this experience of something that is cosmic and beyond. This continues that theme of Aquarius which is about an expanded view of our individuality. It is Sunday which is ruled by the Sun and the Sun gives vision, consistent purpose and power so we may be looking into the vision in our life where our power lies and how the best use it. This 1st and 2nd lunar day happens on the 29th and 30th so we see that theme of beginnings which is the 1st lunar day and also foundations and structures being built on the 29th and the 30th. Learning how to unite our individuality with culture is the lesson of this Full Moon where we are letting go of that powerful self. Hopefully you are initiating things or inspired by those revelations and doing tangible things to help negate your sense that the world is revolving around you and your ego on the 29th and the 30th.

Monday, August 31, 2015 Sign: Pisces Nakshatra: Uttarabadrapada Tithi: Tritiya Day: Moon On August 31st, the Moon goes into Pisces where it is joined Ketu, the south node. The Moon in Pisces is very mystical and metaphysical cosmic place. This is where we connected with that which is not even of culture, the world or other people and this can lead into escapism, fantasy and projections being ungrounded. But also it can also to lead to being inspired and motivated to just surrender to the great cosmic beyond. This is the nature of Pisces, the part of us that is not of this Earth. This Moon in Pisces will be joined Ketu, the south node, which brings a certain amount of criticism and discontent but also a lot of focus and perhaps scrutiny about who we really are on that level where we can really feel and sense that part of us and feel it with integrity and authenticity which we usually do not. We are usually kind of tuned out and checked out from that reality because it is hard to bear once we tune into that kind of cosmic message. Uttarabadrapada is the Nakshatra here and it is ruled by the deity called Ahi Bhudnya which is the celestial serpent. This is where we go deeply into life’s mysteries, hidden treasures and weaknesses in our psyche. But we need to think who we are really and how much are we willing to commit to living the truth as we know it and living authentically and saying the only thing that is important is knowing the truth of who we are and making a commitment to that. That is the nature of this Nakshatra. The deity Ahi Bhudnya is that energy where we make a commitment to that where we concentrate our energy only on that deep liberation. It is Monday which is ruled by the Moon which brings that emotional connection to the heart which brings about the potential for dissolving all those boundaries that prevent us from seeing the truth. It is the 3rd lunar day called Tritiya which is related to Lord Vishnu and it shows where we make adjustments and find new ways of understanding things. We also trim our hair or nails, cut things back and make them tidy and proper this day.
