Range Hours are 8:00 AM to – 8:00 PM (or sunset, whichever comes first).

• Your gate card will not open the gate before 7:45 AM, or after 8:15 PM.

We are surrounded by residential neighborhoods.

• Observing our shooting hours is critical to our continued operation on this site.

You are responsible for your own safety while on site, as well as the safety of all family members or guests you bring onto our site.

• Ensure that family members and guests understand and obey our safety rules.

First Aid kits are mounted in all ranges for your use.

• These are basic first aid kits. Tourniquets and clotting kits will soon be available.

Icy conditions require extra care and attention.

• Salt/sand containers located outside the rifle range and clubhouse are available when needed in the winter.

Range Safety

Important – ALL ranges:

• All firearms are to be in a box, case, bag, or gun-sock when transporting to/from the range(s).

• A loaded firearm is NEVER left unattended anywhere on the range.

• When a range is “SAFE” all firearms will be placed on the bench, with actions open, magazines removed, chambers empty, and muzzles pointing downrange.

• Do NOT handle firearms, magazines, ammunition while the line is “SAFE”.• Step away from the shooting bench.• Do not go forward of the firing line unless the line is “SAFE.”• When making the line “SAFE”, ensure that ALL present agree and

acknowledge the request before heading downrange.

• Eye and Hearing protection is required at all times when the range is “HOT.”

• Prior to making the range “HOT”, ensure all persons are behind the firing line and all agree and acknowledge the request.

Important take aways -- continued:

• Anyone may call a “CEASE FIRE” at any time, for any reason.

• Immediately make the line “SAFE”, then resolve the issue.

• If a firearm malfunctions or becomes otherwise unsafe, call a “CEASE FIRE.”

• Make others present aware of the situation, then attempt to resolve the problem safely.

• Hangfire/Misfire – if you pull the trigger and hear a click, but no “bang.”

• Keep muzzle pointed downrange, wait at least 30 seconds before ejecting the round.

• Squib load/”Soft” load – Immediately stop shooting.

• Clear the barrel prior to loading and shooting any subsequent round.

• All targets must be mounted within the confines of an approved target frame.

• Do not place objects at the backstop or on the ground as targets. This may cause ricochets, allowing a round to go outside of the range boundaries.

• If your rounds are not hitting the berm at the far-end of the range, stop shooting and correct the problem.

• Use standard trap loads - typically 2-3/4" shells of any gauge, shot size no larger than 7-1/2, velocity 1200 – 1300 fps or less.

• The trap thrower will eventually need attention. BEFORE going to the trap house, make the line “SAFE”.

• The trap throwing arm can deal a lethal blow to the head, trunk or extremities. Prior to using the trap range, you must attend a separate briefing that addresses safe operation, set up, and use of the equipment.
