With increasing number of tower deployments for enhanced capacity and coverage of Voice and Data network, the compliance of EMF/ radiation from the radio equipment at these towers had become a major challenge. Ramboll addressed this challenge by introducing the National EMF Portal (NEP) called Tarang Sanchar. This web portal can be accessed by the government authorities and the public alike to check the EMF radiation levels of the towers near them. Tarang Sanchar has the database of the towers across India and was developed in association with Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). Ramboll’s EMF portal is the only available source for the entire telecom industry value chain. Before the introduction of the portal, the process of communicating with the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) on EMF levels was cumbersome and associated with a big bulk of papers leading to a long working/ waiting time for approval of sites. With the introduction of the Tarang Sanchar, the benefits are many. This service innovation has digitised the workflow making the process paperless, open to stakeholders and the public leading to transparency, access to historical data and much more. /home/website/convert/temp/convert_html/5f5295a1fb896654173ec1dc/document.docx 1/1

Ramboll’s ‘Tarang Sanchar’ is a breakthrough innovation for the Telecom Industry in India.
