Report On study tour to
nift and international school of design
Our Fashion Department has recently organized a study tour as a
part of our learning to NIFT and International School of Design. It
was a wonderful experience. The trip started at 11:30 am along
with our teachers. From there we proceeded to our destination
with four cabs holding five members each from Police Bazaar to
NIFT.
On arriving NIFT, we were first taken to interior workshop where
we were given demonstration of different functions of working
machines by the guide.
We were then led to different rooms viz... Leather lab, tie and dye
room, pattern room, stitching room, etc.
Later, we headed to the library room, where various
accessories/designs created by the students were put on display
inside the room.
The trip to NIFT ended with our picture taken in front of the
institute. After that we took four cabs and left for International
School of design spring side, Nongthymmai, There, we were
welcomed by one of the faculty and were given advice on different
courses. One of the faculty, Mr. Rapbor gave us an explanation on
how the students in their institute are taught and are given
internship in Delhi and to assist top designers and also the
opportunity to display their own creation and designs on ramp.
He taught us not to be a tailor but to be a real designer… he advice
us to create our own design and not to copy from others.
We gained great knowledge from him and hope to indulge those
creative knowledge in our future.
While going there we get so much of Inspiration from Sir.Rapbor
about the fashion world…..
Conclusion
This tour has helped us to widen our knowledge of fashion and its
different functions. Through this, it had inspired us to work hard
and to follow our passion.
