Current students will serve as tour guides for this nostalgic stroll back in time. 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Highland Courtyard Share memories while enjoying a picnic lunch under the trees of the campus courtyard. The cafeteria will be our back-up lunch location depending on the weather.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I've the opportunity for lots of travel the last 25 years, and still love Albuquerque the best. I have reconnected with family, cousins, aunts and uncles I hadn't seen in 30 and 40 years! I love having time to volunteer and participate in activities that I didn't do when I was working.

Interests: Robert breathed his last gentle breath on Nov 6, 2013 in Santa Fe, NM

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Robert took his skills to San Francisco in the '80s, enjoying rich friendships and the varied cultural life of the City. He then lived in Santa Fe since the '90s. After a decline in health, he died of complications of Kaposi's Sarcoma in 2013. Robert was kind, creative and intelligent, a reader and great conversationalist. He enjoyed his library work and adding his rich baritone voice to groups and ACLOA musicals. He brought the most exceptional dishes to potlucks, was a polished and gallant dance partner, & had a warm hug that let you know you were treasured.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: After graduation from HHS I worked at Wyoming Service Center here in Albuquerque while attending TVI's automotive program, graduating in 1979. I got married in the summer of 1980 and purchased Wyoming Service Center from the previous owner in 1983. I'm still working this small one man automotive repair shop during the day & spending evenings & weekends working on my race car. Looking forward to retirement in the future and spending more time traveling, golfing and with my grandkids!!

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Worked in retail for many years, but was fortunate to be a "mom" for most of the time! We lived (and traveled!) in Germany for 3 years where Jennifer was born, Beth was born in Arizona. Have lived in Colorado Springs for 19 years. Scott is a pilot for United Airlines. Jennifer is married, lives in Albuquerque and Beth is in graduate school here in Colorado. Living in Germany when the "wall" came down was fascinating--was glad I paid attention in the Figge's Western Civ class!! I still love to ski; loved catching up with dear friends at the 40th reunion. Another one soon???!!!

As my life uses the teachings of Dr. Kinzer in DECA everyday and Graphics class has made me successful in the screenprint business for over 35 years.DECA was important and I give talks to other DECA classes on the building blocks of a successful life...nothings perfect but you must try and try!

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Traveled extensively all over the United States, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas and Virgin Islands. Had many friends with whom he went fishing, hunting and camping. Always had a freezer full of elk, deer and buffalo and trout. Loved to create new recipes and feed all. He loved and was loved by many people. Edward passed away in 2004. He is greatly missed.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: After high school I attended both UNM and tech school. I landed a great opportunity as a studio engineer for KOB Television in Albuquerque. Moving on to USWest communications I picked up the skills necessary to manage Walt Disney World Telecom in Orlando Florida. Giving up the ocean for the mountains I moved my family to Colorado where I joined Comcast. My kids grew up and my hair turned gray but I continue my love for all things techie as an L&D professional for Comcast/NBC Universal.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: 29 years in air traffic control. Since graduation have lived and worked in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX, Albuquerque, NM, Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Oahu, Hawaii. Am hoping to return to Hawaii permanently in the not too distant future to enjoy island pastimes of body boarding, hiking, and relaxing on the beach. My greatest life experience was raising my two boys, both of whom, I am extremely proud and eternally grateful.

Left the AF in 1990 to pursue a career in computer networking. Have lived all around the country, but always considered the southwest home. Have one grown up daughter, who lives in Texas.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I've lived in Santa Fe for 30 years. I worked for Governor Garrey Carruthers and after his term ended, I was employed at the Museum of New Mexico Foundation as HR Director and Development Manager for 12 years. I am now retired, but did return to work for the 2016 New Mexico State Legislature. I'm active in the museums and various clubs in Santa Fe. I took up golf three years ago and really enjoy it. My husband and I are avid skiers and spend most weekends skiing in Taos during the winter.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: My life has been full of celebrations in the past few years. My oldest son Clay has blessed this world with 4 precious babies, the oldest of whom is going to be 16. My son Kyle got married and will soon graduate Dental School. My daughter Rachel is getting married at the end of July and will eventually go to Law School. I was highly involved in my kids lives as they grew up teaching/coaching/etc., but now that they've fled the nest, Steve and I are happily remodeling our home. Professionally, I'm enjoying continually expanding my repertoire.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I love spending time with my recently retired husband and kids. I enjoy working out, working as a dental hygienist, but more than anything else, Jesus changed my life forever. I try to glorify Him in all I do in serving others in my church and other ministries.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: The pursuit of career success, status and money was my focus from 1976 to 1996. After 20 years I realized how unsatisfying those things are. Since 1976, I have experienced triumphs, but I have also been humbled a great deal by marital struggles, parental struggles and business struggles. Broken times have acted as a catalyst for me to seek something more meaningful and authentic in life than wealth and status. 20 years ago I re-committed my life to Jesus Christ. I have served as an Elder at my Church and I am the Area Leader for FCCI (Fellowship of Companies For Christ Int'l)

Family: Married to David Gillingham (for 39 years!). We have one daughter (Joy).

Interests: We are enjoying country life in a small community. We hope do more traveling.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Kelly has worked with people of all ages to help persons with disabilities live a fulfilling life despite their disabilities. She is currently working in the schools as an OT. Husband Dave owns a Heating and Cooling business and farms 800 acres and ranches cattle. We are active in our church and Kelly leads a weekly afterschool program that includes Bible-based activities. Daughter is studying to be a Special Ed teacher.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I've been living in Northern CA since 1980, moving here for work after graduating from Michigan, then staying for grad school at Stanford, where I met my husband. I worked in high tech marketing when our kids were young, then stepped out of a paid job for a number of years. For the past years, I have worked in health care, currently managing marketing for the safety net health plan in our county. I volunteer with an organization that runs a primary care medical and dental clinic in the mountains of the Dominican Republic, translating for doctors, doing intake and whatever else is needed.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I worked in Alaska after graduation and into the mid-80's. I married my high school sweetheart, Sheri Day, and have been happily married for 36 years. After Alaska, I worked with family and then with Lockheed Martin on KAFB. We opened Waterjet Cutting Inc. in 2002 and have grown it into a nationwide company. We have two adult children and have enjoyed watching them mature into successful young men.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Loved working with my students and colleagues at Montezuma ES. Invited to Japan to observe public education in Tokyo. Adore hanging out with my adult children and husband in NYC and Chicago. Have gone away on a girls trip for over 25 years with some fellow Hornets! Currently retired but very busy as a public school activist---have enjoyed organizing protests/evaluation burning/test ins/opt out rallys. Have not been arrested.....yet!

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I served 4 years in the USMC. Was married to Carol Rice for 17 years and we had 4 children together. Then divorced in 2000, but still remain friends. I was a firefighter for AFD for almost 33 years and was also a member of a FEMA USAR team (NM-TF1) that responded to the Pentagon after 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Currently I'm enjoying the retired life and working on updating and remodeling my house in Edgewood

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I lived in Telluride and Aspen when I was in my 20s. I've been to Europe 4 times and I'm going again in October . I enjoyed raising my kids and I'm lucky that they both live here in Albuquerque so we see each other often.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: After graduating from high school I studied and worked in Respiratory Therapy. In 1980 I married my husband, Michael. He was offered a position with NASA in 1983 and we moved to Alabama where we have lived since that time. I stayed home and volunteered in the schools and other areas. Both of our daughters are married and live within 10 minutes of our home. And no, we have no grandchildren at this time. Now we are looking toward retirement at the end of the year and the ability to travel to places we haven't seen.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Graduated UNM with a degree in Biology. Worked as a photojournalist for the Albuquerque Journal, then as a photographer for Sandia National Labs. Nineteen years ago we got the chance to move to Montana and work with my Dad. Over the years we have hosted seven exchange students from all over Europe ( our exchange daughters). Because of this we have been blessed to get to travel around Europe five times to visit our exchange students and their families. Recently we have purchased an 80 year old log cabin just across the highway from Glacier National Park and are enjoying fixing it up.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I have a degree in Engineering and an MBA - both from ASU. I have worked in Aerospace Engineering, Banking & Finance and have been in Healthcare for about 10 years now. I lived in Phoenix, Tucson and Portland Oregon for a number of years and moved back to Albuquerque about 12 years ago to care for my aging parents. I lost my wife (Heather) to cancer in 2014. While that was a profoundly difficult time, my two daughters and I are standing strong and living productive lives. Looking forward to connecting with old (errr, long-time) friends from "the Hive."

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Son Shane played football at KU. He graduated in May 2014 with a Secondary Ed degree. Daughter Kaley currently plays soccer at KU. She will graduate in December 2016 with an exercise science degree. We don't have any grandkids yet but we have two dogs that are spoiled rotten. Susan and I enjoy traveling to watch our kids play football/soccer. Susan is a CPA and is currently CFO at Home Care Assistance.

Sandra (Sandy) Strickland GuthrieClass of '76

Family: Divorce 1986 - but didn't change last name back to Strickland - too cubersome

Interests: I've been on a chase crew for the same hot air balloon pilot for over 30 yrs

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Still in banking now for 37 yrs - back in NM after a 4 yr stint in AZ. I do a lot of pet/house sitting year round. I have several regular clients, so I have a lot of 4 legged nieces and nephews around town. ;o) Just enjoy doing things that put a smile on your face, because a day without laughter or at least a smile is a wasted day!

Marcia Tippit Class of '76

Occupation: Artist/Art Instructor

Interests: My primary interests and activities involve writing, painting, and traveling.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I graduated with a BA in Theatre and Dance from UNM that has lead me on a fascinating and rewarding journey through life in the arts. My career moves have mostly involved teaching, but I have also worked in corporate offices in LA, NYC, and Albuquerque (The Children's Institute, TV Guide, Pfizer, and LRRI). I've recently been invited to participate in art shows, events, and to do commissioned work, prompting me to believe there is great merit in the saying, "The journey is the destination". Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Memorable Life Experiences - Graduated from UNM, worked in IT Program Management in 3 different states, the last one being Michigan, where I married my long time work buddy, Chris in 1994. We were blessed with 2 healthy girls (or: 2 ice sculptures in our future, as my husband noted). We were relocated to Virginia in 1999 and have been here ever since. I stayed home and loved doing the school, volunteer thing. I worked for 4 years at our church and just re-started work in the IT field, part-time. I miss NM and seeing you all at the reunion - so glad we'll be 'home' in 2 weeks to see family!

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Lived in Wyoming, Kansas and NM - now in Boise and LOVE IT! Worked as CFO for government contractors for 25 years, currently semi-retired doing accounting for a charity and love supporting meaningful work with more free time. My family and friends are spread across the country and I travel to visit as much as possible. Grandkids are in Maine so I go there frequently. I still have family in ABQ and return often. Life has been interesting, lots of twists and turns, joys and challenges. I have been very blessed with opportunities and dear people to join me as I grow, learn and enjoy this life!

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I returned to school in my late 30's to pursue my dream of becoming a marine biologist. I live in a small town in Mississippi that is working to make the area better. I wasn't happy when I was transferred but decided not to leave after I got here.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: After HHS, I went to UNM and graduated with a BS double major in Chemistry & Biology. I met my wife there in Organic Chemistry Lab. We have been married now (2016) for 34 years. We moved to San Diego in 1982 - have been here ever since. I worked in research labs for 7 years & then worked for San Diego County HazMat for the next 25 years. You cannot get sopaipillas or a good chile relleno in San Diego so trips to New Mexico are required periodically. Go Hornets & Lobos!

Occupation: Senior Scientist & Analyst

Family: I am married to Carl McCants, PhD and we have two children, Jonathan and Marcia.

Interests: I enjoy studying culture and identity as well as reading, bowling and sewing.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I received my BA in psychology from the University of New Mexico and my PhD in social psychology from Stanford University. At Stanford, I lectured in the Psychology Department and served as the Associate Director of the African-American Studies Program and the Undergraduate Advising Center. After moving to Virginia, I started as an Assistant Professor at Marymount University. I then began consulting with Booz Allen and now consult with Strategic Analysis. I am a minister at Norbeck Community Church where I work with the teens and young adults. Carl and I have been married for 27 years.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Went to University of Colorado Boulder (roomed with Brett Abernathy!) Dental School at Northwestern University in Chicago where I married my classmate and best friend Beth. Practiced dentistry and was a faculty member at Northwestern...had the pleasure of being buddies with Steve Fitzgerald there and our families were together frequently. In 2001 we moved to Colorado where both Beth and I are faculty members at University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in Denver. Both of our kids are in the Denver area...Life is good!

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: After graduating from Highland, attended UNM, graduating with a Civil Engineering degree. Relocated to Southern California after being recruited by Fluor Corporation. After a few years there, went to work for Hughes Aircraft Company (which was later bought by Raytheon Company). Retired from Raytheon after more than 30 years of service managing their facilities and real estate.Since retiring, began a small business photographing residential and commercial real estate. Interests: I love to travel, and I enjoy technology (computer, audio and video).

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Graduated from UNM. Worked at Sandia National Laboratories as a Computer Analyst/Programmer and left after 16.5 years to start my own business as a Mortgage Broker. Owned and operated the business for 20 years. Retired at the end of 2015 for medical reasons. Battled cancer (lymphoma) for almost 10 years. Finally had a bone marrow transplant in 2013. Been in remission since the transplant, but continue to deal with issues resulting from the transplant. Nevertheless, I am blessed, enjoying life, loving spending time with family and friends and taking care of my beautiful granddaughter.
