Under the HOPE VI Urban Revitalization Program, the MemphisHousing Authority and its partners have developed a nationalredevelopment model to revitalize former distressed public housingdevelopments. The City of Memphis remains steadfast in itscommitments to provide available resources and technical support toassist with the overall redevelopment effort and revitalization of ourdistressed neighborhoods.
Since 1995, the City of Memphis has been awarded over $144,000,000in HOPE VI Program funds alone, leveraged to $375,000,000 tofacilitate redevelopment activities at five former public housing sites.In addition to the redevelopment of over 2,200 affordable, publichousing, and market rate new and rehabilitated rental and for-salehousing units.
