Upon his arrival in the romantic heart of Venice, the young Austrian Julius Grünwald met and fell in love with the daughter of Mr. Bauer, a respected director at the Hotel de la Ville. Shortly thereupon, Mr. Grünwald asked for the young lady’s hand in marriage.
