Theyareresistanttoimpactsandstongmechanicalstress.Thecouplingstabilityandprotectionagainstaccidentalopeningareassuredbysingleordouble-closingdevicescomprisedofstainlesssteellevers,springs,andpegs.Sealingisassuredbyspecialgasketsthatprotectthecontactgroupsinsidetheenclosureagainstdust&water.The

firsttwofeaturestolookatwhenselectingyourhoodandbasearehousingsize(10pole,16pole,etc.)andthepositionofthecableentryonthehood(top,side,front).Oncetheserequirementsaredetermined,

theleversystemcanbechosenalongwiththethreadofthecableentry.MencomoffersPG,MetricandNPTthreadoptions.

TheInsertisthepartoftheconnectorthathasthecontacts.Insertsincludedonthefollowingpagesfeatureoneoftwoconductorconnectiontechniques:ScrewTerminalorTool-lessSpring(akaSquich).InsertsaremadeofULcertifiedself-extinguishingfiberglassreinforcedthermoplastics,andfeatureanoperatingtemperaturerangebetween-40°Cand+125°C.Thecontactsareinsilverorgoldplatedbrass.Insertsarenumberedonbothsidesforaccurateinstallation.

CableGlands

Mencomoffersawidevarietyofcableglands,fromsmall(PG7)toverylarge(M63).OurlineofcableglandsincludesplasticandmetalvarietieswithNPT,MetricandPGthreading.Ingeneral,acableglandisadevicethatallowstheusertopassacable,wireortubeintoanenclosure.Theglandprovidesstrainreliefandsealsoutdust,
