Mendeley is a cross-platform application (Windows, Mac,Linux, iPhone) that helps researchers manage and annotatetheir scientific paper collections. Researchers can also set upcollaborative projects, work and discuss in groups, and sharedata on Mendeleys web platform.

Mendeley users research paper collections are anonymouslypooled on the web platform, creating a crowdsourced researchdatabase with a unique layer of social information eachresearch paper is connected with socio-demographic informa-

tion about its audience. This data is made available to thepublic via Mendeleys API, enabling research groups to buildapplications on top of it.
